This is Nitin Ruto, Captain of Division 8 and Lise's partner~ He's one of the few of my new OCs that I already have a voice in mind for, and that's Mufasa's haha

Nitin was born in Tanzania in the 1700s, and was a trader and merchant that travelled all over the Eastern coast of Africa. He was killed in a raid when he was 40, and his soul was subsequently sent to the Rukon.

With his charismatic and personable nature, Nitin got an in into a wealthy family in one of the richer districts, and began to work for the family's business, an architectural 'firm' that built houses and buildings for rich pluses in the Rukon, as well as some jobs for the Gotei military and Royal family. While working for them, Nitin started as a salesman, but became very interested in the architectural side of things, and for ten years studied under the family's head in architecture and engineering. When the family business was contracted by the Gotei to help rebuild after the first Quincy war, several Shinigami recognized Nitin's potential as a Shinigami and invited him to the Shino academy. The family's head encouraged him to do so, knowing having a Shinigami in the family would be beneficial for the business.

In the academy Nitin was an average student in most areas, but was a brilliant tactician and excelled in the more academically-inclined courses. Upon graduating in the normal six years, Nitin joined Division 10 under Tatum Silva, but only three years in switched divisions to the 8th, wanting to get back into engineering. Nitin's experience in the field caused an early promotion to an officer's position, the 18th Seat, and then to the 15th and the vice-head of the combat engineering department. During the Secon Quincy war Nitin stayed mostly out of combat, however during the Espada War his department was sent into Hueco Mundo, and his efforts in leading the department earned him a promotion to 3rd seat, then lieutenant. At the end of the war, Nitin's captain decided to retire, naming Nitin as the new captain.

During the Shadow invasion, Nitin was among several key people that were protected and hidden from the fighting, as his engineering expertise and experience leading the engineers was crucial for after the invasion. After the final three-day push, Nitin chooses Lise Rockwell, a newly-pardoned Visored and the former 8th Division lieutenant (before her exile) to lead alongside him.

Brief personality: Nitin is intelligent, cunning and more than a little manipulative. He has a silver tounge, and hasn't quite left his roots of being one of the most successful tanzanian traders- he will manipulate someone into buying a ton of stuff they don't need, which is what made him such a good addition to his Rukon family. Aside from that, Nitin is a genuine kind of person, honest and straightforward when he isn't trying to get something out of people. He has a cultured way of speaking that often makes him appear bored, and e only really gets engaged in conversation over his interests. Nitin isn't the biggest warrior, and attained his position through experience and and expertise at his division's specialty. As such, he avoids conflict when he can, and would rather sweet-talk his way out of a hairy situation.
