Thanks Chilly, I checked out your Joker. It's wicked, man. I like the concept. I'm not sure what pointers I could give you, but if you have any specific questions just send me a pm/note.

Wicked work! I guess you sculpted the face and then added the helmet afterward? would be hell difficult doing it the other way round.
I'm not sure his arms need lengthening... I mean, if you did lengthen them, then his legs would look too short I reckon...hmmm, I'm sure you have plenty of Ref
to work from anyway.
Can't wait to see him with the cape!

Yup, thats how I did it. I already lengthened the arms a bit. It's labeled Magnetowip2 in my gallery. You'll have to check it out...and I know what I want the cape to look like...I just have to figure out how to make it work. I sort of just want to insert some wire in some fabric. Then I could change the flow anytime I wanted.

the fabric idea sounds good, hope you can do it!

very good head it seems, can u deattach the helmet?
what i dont find so well, that the arms seem too short, as u mentioned.
and the hip area seems a bit out of shape. the trousers look like they are out of firm plastic, not some fabric.
a more personal question: why u chose to work with the normal sculpey (polymer clay) again, and why not all in sculpey firm or 50/50 mix if so?
i always wondered, how magneto, such an old guy, can still have so many big muscles.
anyways, great figure. now im much curious to see how u create the cape, what materials u use for, and what kind of flow u bring in.

Thanks for the critique man! The helmet isn't detachable and yes, the arms were at one time the right length, but I flared his lats out too much and the gloves are too long, so with all the muscle on top of those two things, it makes them look short without a doubt. I've already adjusted them and even added 1/8+ of an inch to the wrists, so when I finish a little more on it they should look right in the next update.
As for the hip, once the belt is thickened and straightened a bit, it should correct it and I planned on adding some wrinkles, but not quite as much as real cloth. I want it to look more like the comics in that area.
I chose to do this project in normal sculpey with firm armor/ clothing because I wanted to do it fast. I did just about all of this in 2 weeks..except for the head. I made that a while back. Thanks again bud!

Thanks! Yes, but my time is limited at the moment. If it were a smaller scale, like this one and depending on the character maybe it wouldn't take too long.

Thanks! Some blending on the pec striations is all that's really needed in my opinion. It's sculpted based on arnold's anatomy in this pose, so even if it looks a bit odd, it's his anatomy. Stomach sucked in and torso elongated.

Thanks man! This is almost small enough to transfer into wax...I could really perfect it then, but maybe it's too much trouble.

yeah , agreed. it sure can be a pain and an added expense.
i am gonna have to get back to either sculpey or learn a new medium like an air drying clay. i am simply not finishing stuff to paint and its annoying frankly.
keep up the good work !
