Description 17 inch sculpture (1/6 scale) The character is supposed to be around 11ft tall with nearly limitless strength and can make spikes come out of any location of his body...well...maybe there's a few places he'd prefer not to have them come out I made this guy up around 1993 and I thought I'd bring him to life in the form of a sculpture. I love your sculpture, the level of details is amazing. I particularly like the veins and the spikes.
Is it done with sculpey?

I love this. There is something about the rawness of it that i find extremely enjoyable. I love seeing a sculpt before its painted<3

great job man.. it was great watching the progress of this piece. im glad u didnt make him into sagat ike i kept bugging you about. so what happens from here? do you paint him or anything?

sup3rs3d3d In reply to loki909 [2010-04-17 19:32:49 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! Lol..I'd like to do some Street Fighter statues. I plan on adding a little more detail in areas and then priming it all gray. I'll eventually paint it, but the gray really evens out the colors and makes all the detail pop.

It seems like the type of model they use as a preliminary structure for 3D CGs in computer animation. Are you a professional sculptor, by any chance?

Thanks! I've been sculpting about 7-8 months, I wish I were a professional haha..that's quite the compliment. Thanks again!

u made the veins also in the right position as in the human body or just by feeling?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sup3rs3d3d In reply to hurzdischnurz [2010-04-16 18:39:05 +0000 UTC]

I used a lot of reference material, so they should all be in realistic areas. I noticed that everyone's veins run through the same areas, but they do take different shapes and vary in visibility. I mostly used a body buider by the name of Ronnie Coleman to place the veins.

thats good to know about the position.

u know that little 3d anatomy puzzle guy for 15$? has on left bodyside muscles and other the veins. i try to catch this.

Yeah and I also used a heat gun for parts. It's really too big for my oven.

well at the moment my project looks like an elephant with no head handing on its hind legs but it shoudl look better with a bit more work.

im trying to do awesome muscle structures like your work, i can appreciate the effort you have gone to more now that i am attempting it myself and seeing just how difficult it really is heh

sup3rs3d3d In reply to BeardedRick [2010-04-17 10:55:42 +0000 UTC]

Take your time and keep at it. You'll get better. As for the muscles...muscle magazines and anatomy books will guide you in the right direction. If you need any suggestions for anatomy books or w/e just let me know.

yeah i was googling body builders last night.

my sculpture dosnt look quite right but i think its ok for my first attempt at muscular structures.
im making a dwarf anyway so im kinda cheating in the sence that it isnt a human so i can almost get away with proportions not being correct
