This one is stunning great Kevin! It made me laugh and i'd love to have a print of it with me for times when i need a cheer-up. You get this fellow in the last position i would have been thinking about. Don't ask me why - but i simply love this one!

Amazing photo! Especially the timing in the dogs gait.
The title is also fantastic when looking at the picture (especially as a dog owner)

check out that expression on Boris' face
he's so determined to get that ball.
is it just me or does the 5D hav a lot of vignetting when used wide open with lenses?
if it does... it makes me want to save up for it hehehehe

another thing i thought about while looking at this shot and trying to figure out the vignetting is that the centre of attention, brightest area, and point of focus is in the middle, while the outside area is made up of darker colors and bokeh. that makes the vignetting appear even more exaggerated, even if it isn't.

yea. I like it a lot though (I suppose I'm one of those who loves vignettes, light fall off and etc).
the composition of the shot, the properties of the lens and the post-processing all add to the effect. It's awesome and I'm jealous
(trust me to be jealous just because I don't own an full-frame d-SLRs of my own while being able to use other people's full-frames )
Awesome work (as always)

thanks! i do love photos that have those irregularities too, although i prefer to start with a pristine image and then dust it up if it needs to look old! and hey... if you can use other people's full frame digital SLRs, it's a whole lot cheaper than buying one!

yep, the lens has to be pretty high-quality to use with a full-frame camera. the vignetting is even there on this very expensive zoom. it might be exaggerated a bit because i've increased the contrast in processing the raw file.

he sure looks determined!
and it's really weird that a Californian dog has a russian name

it's true! it's possible my uncle was mistaken and thought boris was a german name from weimar. i always think it's funny to give dogs human names. i might name my next dog claude or steve.

Ah, I can't believe you captured a shot so fast! It's very detailed and clear. It must cost a fortune to buy such a good camera

Really impressive shot, Kevin
I just love how the moment is frozen, his expression and depth of field (aswell as the focus on Boris )
Keep rocking

Wow, what an action shot. That dog is really flying. And he's in such beautiful shape, too, with those muscles and gleaming fur. It's perfect to have him breaking the line of the field, too. If his head and part of his body hadn't broken that line, the photo would have been ruined. It's easy to photograph them when they're just lolling about. Good on you for getting such a difficult shot.

they are breed to run... really really fast. actually they're breed to hunt. you think he likes the ball wait 'ntill you see him catch sight of a rabbit... all bets are off then.

he gets to chase rabbits all the time, but he doesn't have room to catch them because the yard is too small i'm kinda glad about that actually
