Hum, yeah. A crappy idea I got while playing Path of Radiance. There's that chapter where you can re-recruit Shinon by talking to him with Rolf, then finish him with Ike. The only problem with that is that Shinon is an enemy on that map, so when I try to make him "approach" my team, he can end up killing one of my members (which happened to poor Devdan
). I usually use Oscar to get into Shinon's killing range since he kicks ass so much in this game and not only he's a killer, but he's a tank (so Shinon always does 0 damage to him. Mouhahaha)!Anyway, that scene is supposed to explain that Shinon is the one who taught Rolf archery, and it's supposed to be a secret (I guess Shinon probably doesn't want to show people that he likes kids
). But how can this be a secret if I always surround Shinon with that much characters hanging around him (so that way he can't kill anyone. Sucks to have archers stuck with a range of 2, and not at least 1-2 like mages)? Fire Emblem physic, I guess...I always thought Oscar already knows that Shinon is Rolf's teacher because it's kinda obvious, but Boyd still doesn't know. Anyone thinks the same? ^_^
Yeah that's Ike behind Shinon. And I had to draw Kieran because he's made of too much awesomeness. Yeah and I made Shinon looks kinda soft... well... I guess deep inside him he's a softie
And I was too lazy to make a bg. Or to add super details. So it's crappy.

Haha, well if your Rolf is too weak (which is to be expected unless you really like him, he's so hard to train, lol), you can always own everyone else that are nearer your group, but still stay out of Shinon's range. When there's no one, then put someone with the biggest defense in Shinon's range while unequipping all of his or her weapon, or at least put a weapon that has no bigger range than 1. When he's close enough to your group, just put four units around him, then try to put Rolf near those four people, but not in Shinon's killing range. When Rolf is close enough to your group of 4 and Shinon, replace one of the four with Rolf. I will assure that it will work no matter what, lol (unless all your characters are RNG screwed or are too low level).
It takes times, but for a perfect game, that's almost a necessity.

Yeah! Haha it did, especially since I of course did the smart thing and had everyone crowd around him so he couldn't move :3 I did get him but I just feel comfy leveling rolf cause I have a thing for weak-getting-stronger type things in FE :3

As for the Blizzard thing, I usually put some mage in the magic range to the mage will waste all the Blizzard on the uber RES mage, lol. Or I just put someone with an insanely high AVOID in the range (usually Ike or Oscar when they support, lol) and the Blizzard get wasted no matter if it touches or misses, so yay

Yeah that's a good idea lol :3 I usually zoned out and I was like "oh boy let's get x unit who has terrible RES some experience! All the way out in front! 
anyway lol yey I got him. Next playthough I might want to use like all the central characters together or something maybe...I JUST beat the freakin' Black Knight!...I had to do that map 3 times because I couldn't get enough Aethers in a row :I but I finally did so yay ;D

Haha, beating the BK is so satisfying. I've beaten him only once because I think having Nasir instead of Ena isn't that much an addition in the game as I never use laguz (except Reyson) in PoR, and I hate that chapter as well, so no way I'm redoing this map, lol.
Now makes me wanna play the game, but I swear to myself to not play this game until I finish my semester ;_;
Sometimes I continue even if a character dies, but only if I totally don't care about that character (which is almost no one). It was only once I killed Boyd and Oscar to see if there was really dialogue differences through the first chapters and when you recruit Rolf, and there were. Ohoho

Is that so? lol sounds like something I'd do, I really like to check for those things, cool to hear there's a difference! also like I wonder if you get Jill x Mist's A support conv when the heron song thing didn't happen...It did happen when I got it and they mentioned it, but I wonder what they say before it did...Hmm...
But aw man too bad you can't play yet :3 well anyway I just beat it earlier today! yay :3 lol aether destroys everything. But anyway yeah I too never use laguz except for awesome reyson. lol so glad to have beaten the black knight and see nasir live :3 Anyway! I wonder now if I should move to the wii one? Like I wonder if that one's worth it?

Well I never tried to get Mist and Jill support, but I don't think you can do it before the heron song happens XD I just know that making them support to A can make Mist recruit Jill in RD, but that's all
Yup, Aether is too h4x, but too bad it doesn't activate much often, unless you're very lucky :3 (I am not, lol)
Well Radiant Dawn is all right, I still prefer PoR over it. What really killed RD is the lack of real support conversation, in fact, you get those crappy:
Character #1: Hello, (insertNameHere), how are you doing on the field?
Character #2: Hey (insertNmeHere)! You look wonderful today!
There are some that slightly change according to whom they support (like if siblings or family support), but nothing much. All the lines are like one or two sentences. At least, it has many, many base conversations with many characters which reveals a little more of the characters (my favorite being the three brothers' one, of course, because it has some drama and much of their interesting backstory, ohoho).
It's still a fun game itself, and that's the FE game with the most of chapters in the series too. The first chapters are very hard too unless you play on Easy mode. XD And you meet new characters also.

Oh boy! Well yes I do enjoy FE a lot, and I've been into a real FE kick lately lol. I picked up sacred stones and this and beat em so yeah maybe I will think about getting that one
and lol idk if it's just me but the supports in PoR didn't make total sense either. I mean with who and who talk you know? like in the other games there were so many more, and here I am thinking things like I know who'll talk to who. No Ike and Mist? No Rolf and Boyd? Like come on, such weird choices like this and other to me lol
well anyway yeah I'll think about that. also I'mma link my completed SS to my PoR and see what the extras are now! Yay :3

Yes, PoR Memory can affect RD, but not much. So I rarely use it, lol.
I know right? It sucks how siblings can't support each other. I would be so happy to see the three brothers supporting, or Marcia and Makalov, now that would be awesome.
Intelligent Systems did mention the reason they didn't put any support between the family characters was because they already have bond support between siblings (the bond support affects their critical rate if they are adjacent to each other, like if Rolf is surrounded by Oscar and Boyd, his critical rate will go up by much. The same bond support system is also there in RD.). I'd say it's just a crappy excuse as people WANT TO SEE CONVERSATIONS between them all

YES Makalov and Marcia! Oh god Marcia. I could solo maps with her. All falconknights I think have the potential to become absolute tanks, and oh GOD lvl 20 Marcia Falconknight could just...Ugh decimate anyone lol. So she babbles about Makalov for like the entire time BUT doesn't support!? I mean, I needed a knight and I thought he would be cool IF he could support and I wanted to see the conv anyway, but nothing? GRRR

Haha, I've never been fan of falcon knights. Their STR are always too low for me :C And beside, they need to do a male pegasus knight, darnit
But speaking of personality, Makalov wins in term of being different from all the other guys (Devdan/Danved too), and Marcia seems like happy and all active despise having a crappy gambling brother. She still have left the Begnion army just to find her brother! There could be quite something to explain about this!
Also, Makalov is one of the very few people who has a support different depending on if his sister survives or not (see his convo with Astrid). It makes him win even more, lol. (I think there's another one but I forgot who, I think it's Jill)

Aw man! SOMETIMES their STR comes out a little low but man you raise them up? It's like they're flying generals, I'm not even kidding. And they pretty much ALWAYS attack twice. And they can move 10,000 squares...And rescue almost anyone, and like man you give em a killer weapon or a brave weapon, and it's like...Oh man ;O; she came out as my No.1 unit hehe :3 but hehe yeah totally for male pegasus knights :3
Next time I might use Makalov. I just wish he supported HER cause I loved Marcia, but yeah kinda cool his switches...You're right lol his personality does differ a bit, I loved Devdan's personality a lot but I feel iffy about using an already-promoted unit :c but yeah I still like him hehe. Anyway I'll probably go get the wii one at some time in the future, just to satiate my Fire Emblem lust lol. And I haven't even begun to think about the older titles! Starting with 6 :3 I can't wait to play all the old ones, I hope they're good :3

I'll admit, I found this comic before playing this level so I guess that's cheating? But I wanted to see if Shinon would attack Rolf if I put him in his range (surprisingly, Shinon approached him... maybe he's not so cold-hearted after all).
Anyway. Your Rolf is SO CUTE. I love that first panel.

Yeah, I tested it too, though I think Shinon won't attack him (I don't remember much because my Rolf is always h4x at that point so I'm scared to put Rolf in his range and he ends up killing Shinon, lol). Weirdly he attacks Gatrie who's like his bestest friend, lol. I guess Shinon really have a soft spot for kids C: (of course, by soft spot, I mean like an uncle and child relationship >_> )

My favorite scene in PoR. But not for this. For when Rolf begins crying after he finds out that Shinon's with the bad guys. Well, Shinon's a jerk and everybody loves him. Especially me.

Incidentally I don't think anybody answered the question you posed in your comments! Oscar DOES know who originally taught Rolf the bow. When you get your second "3 Brothers" info conversation (to unlock the triangle attack), he says "Well, judging by your stance and the way you hold the bow, I think we all know the real story." But when Rolf panics over keeping it secret, Oscar covers for him and says that HE taught him the bow...not Shinon (aww, isn't that sweet, haha). Boyd is completely clueless and totally doesn't pick up on it.
As for strategy I pretty much do the same thing...tank Shinon with Oscar. Shinon almost never hits him to begin with. There was once incident when he critted on Oscar but it did...pretty much nothing actually. Oscar just doesn't die. Like ever. YAY FOR AMAZING PALADINS.

Haha, yeah. I get the feeling Rolf is like the one person Shinon would allow to get away with hugging him...that is, without immediately getting an arrow in the eye in response. Though I agree, the pairing is bleh....I much prefer the 'family' style relationship between them!
Incidentally have you ever read the fanfic 'Approval' by Miss Pixel? This makes me think of that too, again due to Rolf and Shinon interaction

Haha, this one isn't romance and it's actually pretty amusing. [link] if you're interested--it's about Rolf pestering Shinon to teach him how to use a bow. (Like I said, I hate the romance ShinonXRolf pairing, I much prefer them as mentor and student or uncle and nephew, and this one seemed appropriate).
As for the bow teaching thing...well that's not entirely accurate, seeing as Oscar had to learn a bow from somewhere (probably Crimean training) and Boyd can also use a bow (somehow...actually I'd really love to learn where HE learned it, since his game animation for it is kinda wild and undisciplined, unlike the paladin bow animation or the archer/sniper one. I'd say he probably really DID teach himself except he makes the exact opposite argument about bows when Rolf initially tries to join the team lol). But yeah, the fact that Rolf operates as an archer/sniper is way different from using a bow on horseback or having uber muscles of doom to make your bow do whatever it wants, sooooo it is still a bit obvious as to where he learned it all haha.
Shinon does love to crit, I agree. I suspect it is more or less because he likes to look flashy while attacking. Just for the lulz.

I figure that Oscar probably learned how to use a bow when he was originally in the Crimean army; it seems like a thing they'd do, to make their soldiers at least proficient in all forms of weaponry. It would probably explain why all the paladins can easily choose a second weapon (any of them) upon promotion.
Boyd though....now that is a real puzzler.
As for OscarXAstrid, I have nooooo idea why that's popular

Haha, yeah, for some reason, Oscar x Astrid seems pretty popular pairing for Oscar, despite Astrid canonly marrying Makalov and despite both Oscar and Astrid to have NEVER EVER been in contact in BOTH games. I guess the fact that most of players hate Makalov didn't. Poor him (I like Makalov, though XD )

Yeah...that is a good point. I dunno, maybe Makalov and the other non-knight Knights pick up weapons just by learning from other people. Though personally, Makalov is so lazy I don't expect he would go out of his way to learn another weapon unless somebody forced him to. Hrm.

Lol, it's okay if you don't like Kieran x Oscar XD I respect people's choice of pairings, unless it's something about a kid and an adult. I loathe pedophile pairings, lol. I don't mind seeing kid or teen crushes between themselves (like Mist x Rolf), since it's only crush and everyone has them during childhood or teenage, but to pair them with an adult is something else >_>
Funny though, Oscar and Astrid was one of the supports that was taken out from the final game (in PoR) in the last minute, apparently. But still.... STILL And beside, Oscar x Tanith is a much more interesting pairing, considering both of them come from totally different countries and have totally different minds. (and same for Oscar x Kieran where both are totally different... *is shot*)

Yes, his attitude is the best part of his and he's damn good sniper... Some of my friends doesn't like his attitude and even hates him for that but I love itXD And I love the way he talks to Rolf

Well I wouldn't really like him in real life either, lol. He's the kind of guy you can tick off whatever you do. But as a game character where almost every other characters are heroic and good and stuff, that kinda change from the generic mood of a game

Well, I take that back. My Oscar in PoR had TONS more defense than he did in RD for me. He was in his high third tier class, too, but for some reason, the enemies in the final chapter were too much for him. >:
