Description
This pic is quite old (2005 to be exact). I've done this for a Coloring course at school. We had to choose one of the poems/fable the teacher gave us and make two colorful pictures from them, one with cold colors and one with warm colors. I chose "Le Corbeau et le Renard" (Raven and Fox) I don't exactly remember the score I got, but I think I got a high scoreWarm one can be seen here .
EDIT: WOW Daily deviation! So that's what DD means >_> I've been absent for few days and I never knew that O_O Thank you very much! ^_^

I love how these two pictures go together! The perspective and the unique cartoon style are really great. I like this one even a bit better than the first one, but that is only due to my personal taste: I have a weakness for cooler colours.
And I love the colour scheme here.
Also, I like fresh renderings of old topics and tales.

Yeah, I actually prefer the warm one as well, lol. It took me a bit more time to make that one.
Thank you! C: I like those tales as well, ohoho!

Bien sΓ»r !

I tried to find it online in English but I couldn't find it, lol )
Well it's about a raven holding a cheese then the fox came. He obviously want the cheese, so he tried to persuade the raven to sing because supposedly he has such a beautiful voice. So the raven was flattered then he started to sing. When he does, the cheese falls down and the fox catches it. The raven is then shocked to loose his cheese.
Never fall into suck trickery, I guess

Aw, poor Raven. I'll give it some cheese to make up for the one the fox took. :3

The Crow and the Fox
Jean de la Fontaine
Master crow, on a tree perched,
Held in his beak a cheese,
Master fox, by the odor attracted,
Held him with almost this language:
"Well hello, Mister Crow.
You are so pretty! You seem to me beautiful!
Without lying, if your song
Is comparable to your feathers,
You are the Phoenix of these woods."
At these words, the crow was overcome with joy;
And to show his beautiful voice,
He opened his mouth wide, and dropped his prey.
The fox seized it, and said: "My good mister,
Learn that every flatterer
Lives at the expense of those who listen to him.
This lesson is well worth a cheese without doubt."
The crow, ashamed and embarrassed,
Swore, but a little late, that he would never be taken again.

I love this little tale. Is from the times of the Roman empire, did you knew that? from the fables of Esopo. ^^ the vixen and the raven. The illustration is very good pal, the colours and the painting style are clean and very appropiate for illustration for children. The shapes are armonious and concrete (I hate abstraction in this kind of drawing).Simply delicious. 10/10

I do believe that story was used as part of the plot of the one-act play my class did, based on the stories of Reynard the Fox. I think it was in the first scene, followed by Reynard stealing the reverend hedgehog's ham, though that had to be cut due to time. But, I am sure you do not really care...
Anywho, love the picture. = D
