Description Named him Bilbo because I was listening to the Hobbit while I was working on him.

So this one is pretty much complete. I am rather happy with how he came out. The great and mighty model horse gods decided to smile down upon me as I was laying the last Matte Finish coating on top. That frost coating disappeared before my eyes! I'm at least very pleased about that.

I'm so so about the markings. I really thought he was just ruined from that nasty frosting so I decided to just experiment with markings but when the frosting went away then I wished I have done better on them. I know they are technically incorrect, tobiano effects all 4 legs I think. And I don't really like the spot in the middle of the tobiano marking. But it's not half bad for a first try!!

Anyway, I know he has flaws, like a lot of grain but I hope to get better and my ultimate goal is to do my Nordanners!

Thanks!! I'm happy how he turned out too. I just finished the 2nd model and I will try to post it tomorrow if I get time. Already have the next victim primed! And I've spent a small fortune in fixatives and dullcote sprays.

Did you know if you use clear nail polish on the eyes, it will make them glossy just like the real models?

Yeah, I did on this one, if I hadn't you wouldn't have been able to see the eye at all probably. I do it on the hooves as well for these little guys. That way it gives me an excuse to keep them black because show horses are allowed to have all hooves painted black and typically they are glossy. Otherwise I would have to learn to paint tan hooves-I'm not there yet.

Hahaha, yes. I accidently paint my hooves all grey. Even the one on the leg with a sock. Oh well. It was my first time! Lol, I started my next one today.

Wow, next one you do, make a tutorial, so at least us beginners have an idea of what to do if we want to customize! I totally want to after seeing this!

There's so many tutorials out there better than what I can do so far. I only just started myself! But perhaps when I get a little better and know what I am doing! But for now, here's the tutorial that I used to teach me: [link] It has lot of pictures and really easy to follow. I also watched some youtube videos.
