Hank, please pipe down, you're being detracting," Leah whispered to her husband. Hank was boisterously cheering for Savannah and China as they entered the dressage ring. "You just don't do that sort of thing at these kinds of shows. You aren't in Dubois, Wyoming anymore!" China was showing the white of her eyes as she came into her halt position, tail twitching nervously, with a little side of head tossing. Leah could tell in Savannah's face she was anxious about the mares performance, then tension coming from China was thick. For some reason the mare just did not settle well here at Ocean View Equestrian Center. Hank was not any better.

"I should be able to cheer how I want, that's my horse out there and one of my staff members and to hell with anyone who's going to tell me otherwise." Hank pulled on the brim of his Stetson cowboy hat, setting it firmly on his head. He had been in a fowl mood all day as well, one that could possibly reflect China. He had gotten a call from Shekinah Valley from his foreman that the sales offers on some horses were not going as planned along with several other issues he was dealing with. It just was not the best time to be away from home.

Chine and Savannah started the routine, floating around the arena. China really was an amazing horse, who once was focused, could do work. But today her focus was not with her. She seemed to be a little dull to Savannah's cues and not responding as splendidly as she did in the practice ring.

"Dang it girl get her right!" He bellowed to either the horse or the girl, Leah could not tell. "For goodness sake Hank, will you keep quiet Hank!" Leah hissed at him while yanking on his arm.

Hank threw her arm off, rose from his seat and left the stand. Leah was left gawking and when she recovered, settled her head in her hands.

Both Hank and Leah missed the rest of China's performance but it seems once Hank left the stands, China settled into her routine and the rest went like clockwork. She performed her flying leads, half-halt, travers, and extensions flawlessly and ended her routine with a much quieter salute than she started with.

Hank left the show grounds and did not return to their room until after the horses had been cared for and the rest of the sVa staff was asleep.
