My second-to-last picture for March, but my final original image.What's this? ZUTARA? Yes, right beside Maizu.
My ideas for what their Fire Nation garb could be, if either one were to become Fire Lady. I kept them both fairly simple, and yet unique--each one's outfit is a bit of a representation (Mai's is definitely more intricate, but I really like Katara's simplicity). Note the wide collar to expose Katara's necklace.
I had a lot of fun with Mai's head attire--it's sort of a combination of Azula's Ba Sing Se outfit and Ursa's style, plus a touch of a unique crown--since no one knows where Ursa is, I'd assume that no one knows where her crown is, either, so it's up for a style change.
Bonus points to whoever can identify what two things Mai's crown is designed after!
Katara's crown is the moon--if she becomes Fire Lady, I'll be fine with it AS LONG AS HER CROWN IS MOON-SHAPED. It looks close enough to a fire crown while still retaining the Water Tribe characteristics.
Both of them smiling....Katara, I used a reference for but didn't solidly base her off of any one image. Mai was drawn from memory, freehand. Both drawn by hand in pencil, then inked over. The coloring and letters are all digitally done....
So, whether you be Zutarian or Maizu, enjoy! And if you're Zujin or Songko, sorry, they're both cute, but they aren't really strong...I'm not thinking that either one will come to be.
More bonus points if you can tell me what the background colors are!

Edit: I fixed Mai's eyes and Katara's head proportion to her body....no real clean-up, just the bits that bothered me.

Either one would work....I think Mai would be a better match. She has the strength, but she also has a calm reserve that Katara lacks (she has SOME, but she's also very....COMPLETELY CALM).

Nope, not from Aurora, unless it was something subliminal...it's a combo of her three-pronged dagger from Return to Omashu and a flaming apple....

Ah! Speaking of, theres a maiko fangroup, called "Fountains and Flaming Apples." As for Katara, no offense, but she just seems out of place...you know, Water Tribe=Blue, Fire nation=Red...Zutara's never made sense to me, but still, nice work!

Well, the design of her ornament was obviously the flaming apple...Azula's crown was more or less confirmation for her own....there's something else....
Let's just say that if you mess with HER babies, she might take that crown off. XD

I love it and it does seem applicable, but what vexes me is that Zuko didn't address his mother by any sort of title when he went on his spiel about who he was in that Earth Kingdom Village

hmmm...can't name what Mai's crown was inspired by, sorry (though it does look sharp), but I think her background color is called marine (we sell a shirt at work that's almost exactly that color, and that's what we call it), and Katara's looks like a light reddish brown. Darker than terrracotta, and browner than red dirt, but I cant think of a name for it. So alas, I get no points for that. Oh well. Nice pic though. I think you especially did a good job on Katara's expression. And I like the idea of the moon fire crown thingy. Very cool.

Argh, now it's bugging me, and I feel stupid, because I cant think of any episode that would have that shade of blue in it. That's not exactly a common shade. But Katara's background color looks like the color of the outfit Zuko was wearing in the apple scene in Zuko Alone. Though Mai's crown does look like one of her little throwing daggers. Mostly the one that seperates into three prongs, in I-forget-which-episode.

Yep, that's it, the dagger....the one she pulls out in "Return to Omashu," the three-pronged one.
Here's a hint...the color of what I think is going to happen is blue, the color of what COULD have happened is red....
