Description
By request, a wax cut tutorial- which strikes me as funny that it's my first tutorial, since I don't think myself super wonderful at waxforms. I'm better than it looks like in the images, though- my camera's not the best. Regardless, it gets the point across.Time: For the makeup, 10-15 minutes. Putting together the tutorial took considerably longer. XD
Medium: Wax + Makeup.

The wax itself scrapes off- then regular makeup remover for the rest. It's very soft (the wax) ^_^

Does anyone you know ever freak out because they think it's real? Good Job! I wish I knew how to makeup.

Not recently! I haven't done any wax cuts in a while, but yes, I have freaked out a friend or two. Never on purpose.

i'm actually pretty good at this myself, i volunteer with an community emergency response team and for practice events i am one of our effects artists, i've created all kinds of injuries like burns and broken bones (the kind with the bones sticking out) and it can be a lot of fun you did a good job explaining the basics of the art.

I've never tried beeswax. You'd have to google to see if anyone else has tried it. Good luck!

I'm sorry to say it doesn't look that realistic and its horrible fake slits is so disrespectful:/ I find it offensive:/

sweetgreychaos In reply to hawkkii [2012-08-12 21:12:40 +0000 UTC]
I'm sorry you feel that way. You have a right to feel that representative work is offensive, but it's a legitimate and somewhat necessary medium unless we don't represent any form of injury in stage, screen, or print media, which is rather unlikely.
As for realism, to each their own!

Glad you think it could be useful! And I got this makeup pretty cheap online. The Ben Nye Wax was around $4, if I remember correctly?

Excellent tutorial! Could you tell me the brand for the fake scabs?
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
sweetgreychaos In reply to RadioLace [2012-06-18 01:54:40 +0000 UTC]
Sure! The one I most commonly use is: [link] because it's been available in tiny squeezie packages in cheap Halloween makeup kits. So, moral of the story, I like it, but it's cheap- and I'm sure other kinds are better.
But you can make do with what you have!
