Description
By request, a wax cut tutorial- which strikes me as funny that it's my first tutorial, since I don't think myself super wonderful at waxforms. I'm better than it looks like in the images, though- my camera's not the best. Regardless, it gets the point across.Time: For the makeup, 10-15 minutes. Putting together the tutorial took considerably longer. XD
Medium: Wax + Makeup.

Fun stuff! I suggest liquid latex for the cuts on the face, though. Make for better puckering around the lips- and it'll tolerate the makeup application a little better.

Omg, I totally did this in high school for one of my classes--I loved it! For some reason, putting fake cuts/bruises/damage on someone was called "moulage" in that class. One of the favourite things I did was to make someone up as if a computer had blown up in their face--screws and computer chips everywhere! Another fun one I got to do was chemical burns...that involved lots and lots of liquid latex. It's really cool to meet someone else out here that can do this!

^_^ The blown up computer sounds tres interesting! There are quite a few really fantastic woundwork artists here on DA- many that are so much better than my humble amusements. I could give you links to their galleries, if you'd like!

Unfortunately no, no Spanish. Just German, sorry! Sometimes if you use a freetranslations.com, you can translate sections of text. Not always well, but it might help!
Thanks for the compliment!

Cool! This was really really helpful!
(I could barley read it though, because my annoying cousin was pointing to it saying "What's that??! Is that blood??!" LOL.)
I'll use this for Halloween when I'm Regan.

wau, this is VERY cool! I'm amazed by the simplicity in making such an awesome special effect! and I love how you don't use really expensive stuff oh, and the "that's because my roll wasn't thick there. I didn't mean for that to happen, but it's cool, I'll work it into the design."
Great great tutorial!

*laugh* Thanks! I'm really glad you like it. ^_^ I hope it comes in handy for you.
And as for using the cheapo vs. the expensive- yus, I am quite a cheapie... a lot of the stuff that's being sold out there is overpriced. One can make do quite nicely with the cheap stuff. ^_^

I sure hope I get a chance to play around with it
I guess you could apply the overpricing of products to almost everything in this day and age. Much the same when talking about clothes - one c a n make do quite nicely with the cheap stuff ^^ hee.

sweetgreychaos In reply to KawaiiLoliNeko [2008-03-19 00:50:31 +0000 UTC]
It came in a makeup kit- just one of the traditional ones that they sell in places like Wal-Mart near Halloween. They sell them online though, as well- probably just higher end versions.
