this picture gave me goose bumps. it is rather dark and muddy, but the star gives in a lovely balance. I especially like the spiral notebook page- like teture at the top.

You got that "star-intention" right. One centered star together witha framing one surounded by darkness and chaos. Thanks fortking your time to comment.

i really love this piece....the star makes me feel of trying to get away but being hopelessly a part of something.....like life is i guess.

As you might have noticed, there are two stars wraped in a field of chaos. Isolated but still connected and safe - as long as they don't part.

Like a devastated island from space - marked with the star, the shining star whose nickname is freedom (it's real is tyranny)

Good contrast with the textures. That is my advanced critique.

Incredible. Everyone's seeing something different. A previous commenter mentioned seeing a rhinoceros. I see it, too, but it looks more like a dog to me. Was this intended?

I love how the chaos is broken by a very strong, rigid shape that contrasts with its surroundings. This is the same sort of thing that makes Bird of paradise one of my favorite works of art. Also, in my opinion the circle completes this work with the emphasis it gives on the star. How did you achieve this? By placing a paint can on top of your work while it was still drying? I did find the colors unpleasant, though. I'm sure your choice of colors was very deliberate, but still I must confess that I felt a bit sick looking at that shade of green. Of course, I overcame this and continued to study what you've presented, but many viewers may not be so willing to look beyond this.

I seem to remember a journal entry in which you posted a picture of a tattoo you had gotten of stars on your back, two stars I think. And there are two stars here. So is this shooting star a symbol for yourself, who seems to be the sole orderly being in the universe, a single light cutting through the chaos that surrounds you? You don't seem to be alone, though, as there's some entity surrounding you, helping to protect you. It's barely noticeable, but still undeniably present. Maybe this is a diety, a loved one, luck?

What a wonderful comment. You mainly summed it perfectly. The piece is about chaos surrounding a harmony bit. A strong bastion fighting against the randomness it excists in. I have 5 stars tattooed on my body. Black ones. And I also have a star in my life in which I live in and which lives in me. A loved person. Exact interpretation you did.

The circle actually was achieved by a big spray paint can I pressed on the wet paint. A isolated area within the chaos we can live in. The grenn color - oh well - I hate green actually, but I also was annoyed by the ever present brown tones in my work. I try to be varied.

Thank you again for that awesome comment. Stay cool!

Of course! I hadn't thought of the title before posting. It's not one being, it's two. And the entity, it changes, one protecting the other when necessary.

I love the sort of pinkish glow to the whites.. The image seems kinda like a country viewed from above, but in a much more abstract way, obviously.

Nice. I love the textures...I just want to touch them.
Great placement of the star. I like the circle around it...it gives the area around the star a subtle sense of a skull. Very cool.

The background must be a part of an ancient drawing, I can recognise a head of a rhinoceros (he has a broken horn).
I like it, because everytime I look at this, I see something completely different, subtle details uncover a new stories I could share with you.

(Yesterday I saw a map and circle with a star inside, two stars -that make a couple, that's fine you've renamed it.)

I think I don't have your imagination. Because I can't see a rhinoceros, nor a dog or something the like. But that may be due to the fact I didn't painted a dog.

Sorry sweety, I realised my comment sounded a bit harsh. Wasn't meant that way. I actually wanted to laud your imagination. Sorry, Sorry!

That star makes it all worthwhile.
And, there's nothing better than working on irregularly shaped pieces of corrugated cardboard. Almost makes me drool just thinking about it.

You're the master in combining alternative media, and it's evident in your art. I like the textures you create, the natural tones, and the composition as a whole.

The spatter and strokes draw you to the stars. I like it.

Very nice, lovely textures and a great use of shape and composition. I like the idea of having this all on cardboard and the spray-ish effect around the star is very nice indeed, what medium? Looks like coffee or milk! This also feels very industrial, nothing seems too elaborate or extravagant but not minimalistic, just brilliantly modest.

I'm not too sure about the inside of the star however, it's a bit out of place. I'd prefer a slightly earthier fill.
