Happy World Pangolin Day
D !Pangolins, as some of you may know, are an animal near and dear to my heart and one even starred in my final-year animation short film for college.
The folks at Little Fireface Project - a slow loris rehabilitation effort - have been showing their support for pangolins by posting cute pictures of lorises and pangolins on their facebook page , so I thought I'd include some lorises in my tribute too. Both animals are severely threatened by illegal wildlife trade (and in the loris' case, the pet trade as well - think twice about the 'cute loris' videos you see all over youtube). They are also both native (well... one species of pangolin at least) to my region of the world - Southeast Asia.
It's amazing what people are doing to help these animals and I encourage you to check out these organizations to follow them in their work, and find out ways that you can help too!

Yeah! It's organized by Project Pangolin (which I linked above) to help spread awareness about their swiftly dwindling numbers. I'm considering doing a fundraiser or something for it next year... or sooner!

Aw this is so adorbs. I really like the soft shading on this paired with the gentle type of image it is. These are such lovely animals; it's a shame that some humans are always constantly destroying such creatures as these.

Yes, unfortunately many years of superstition are hard to combat :\ But the conservationists are making quite an effort! I've thought about it before but I would really like to organize an art auction or something like that as a fundraiser for conservation efforts!

Oh, yeah, I really like monochromic/achromatic pallets <3 they have such a nice, simple look to them.
And that'd be really cool of you :u I wouldn't mind doing something like that in the future for conservation of different species -- when I don't depend on any money I make, haha.

I know the feels; looking for a job myself, even though I do have a dorm and meal plan. Can't have any spending money for gas/other necessities/enjoyment without a proper job, blah.
