yay for more dogsplodey portraits! I felt like celebrating Papillons this time.
I'm really enjoying doing these, they really help me practice varying characters within a certain breed. if anyone has any other suggestions for breeds, toss 'em my way. you'll have to provide character examples, though.clockwise from bottom:

About Papillions ... what´s special .. and differences to other dogs maybe

You should talk to breeders, and read up about them in breed books. I like Papillons a lot but don't know enough about them to be able to give you any advice. If you're seriously interested in the breed, then do your homework -- research on the internet and at the library, and look up dog shows near you so you can attend them, meet some breeders and talk to them about their breed. People who care enough to spend years living with and breeding these dogs are bound to be much more knowledgeable than myself.

I have to suggest...and I'm WAY late for suggestions, and I don't exactly have a reference that's very good(I do hand drawn stuff with colored pencils nothing on the computer), but you should do Dalmations. I can't help but leave this suggestion, I love these dogs...or Pitts...another favorite breed of mine. Anyway LOVE the Papillons, such cute dogs!

There are certainly plenty of pit characters around - not a breed I fancy particularly, though I know they're pretty popular. But I'll think about it!

Thanks for catching me on the Dalmatians thing-I totally know that! Alright, I'll browse around for some Dalmatian characters...do you mean here on Deviant art? But thanks for thinking about it, that's cool of you! I like that you enjoy making the character unique, that's what I try to do that with my stuff, though mine can't look nearly as amazing as most of the stuff on here because I'm stuck with colored pencils. xD It's okay, it's a pretty common error. Well - characters anywhere really, as long as somebody made them and drew them. I just wouldn't want to draw Pongo and company or other trademarked characters because that got old a long time ago. (I still love both books and the Disney animated feature, though!)
Pssssh don't be silly! You can do absolutely stunning work with 'just coloured pencils'. My latest dev is just coloured pencils and ink, and I love working with them. I'm still trying to get my skills up there with them, I could show you some wonderful coloured pencil work. :3 It's not about the medium, it's about the artist.

Okay, lucky for you I figured that 101 dalmatians were something that you weren't exactly keen on doing. They are getting over done. I'm currently looking around on here, I've found a couple...there aren't that many.
I definitely enjoy working with colored pencils...since it's what I have, but sometimes they just don't seem as stunning as what I see on here with photoshop etc. All of my uploaded pictures here are colored pencil and pen. I would love to see some pencil/ink/paper works!

xD I don't really like posting fanart of really famous movies/shows/etc anymore, because then I feel that people are drawn to it not for my art but for the characters (which aren't mine anyway), and I'm selfish in that respect! xD but I do owe something to the Disney critters all the same for inspiring me so.
Aw well I'll say it again, it's more about you and what you create than what you create it with! plus real media art ALWAYS looks better in real life because scanners and photos tend to give poor reproductions.

Yeah, I like the Disney characters but they sort of just give me a style template to play with. I agree with you that if you reproduce the characters it does generally end up being that that people look at not so much who drew it and how but who is featured.

I have a 7-year-old phalene pallipon that I worship. He's thew best dog on earth. But I could do without his constant leg-flailing. He can't help it, though, he got hit by a car. I'm lucky he's still alive!

It surprises everyone else. XD She's cute as a button though! The father was the boxer...the mommy chihuahua, Gidgit, had 8 puppies and was abused. So yeah...my puppy, Sasha, was very lucky.
