Second batch of dogbreed icons up, whee yay. this time it's the ever-beloved Herding Group. ^^I put in breednames this time because people kept guessing and asking if they were right on the last one. These aren't random breed sheets and all the breeds are very easy to find by going to the AKC website and clicking on the group du jour (or for that matter by clicking the link that takes you to the icons xD). and I know I said only AKC-registered breeds, but I couldn't not put in the Laekenois. The Belgian Shepherds are like.. an inseparable quartet. or something. o.o;

Whenever thinking of Belgian shepherds, I think of those four, in fact I committed it to memory to hopefully impress someone with the names but then I forgot them. Missing off the Laekenois would have been like ... a disaster XD
Any idea what group will be next? *is awaiting the terriers and wirehaired dachsie eagerly*

Heh, like I said, it wouldn't be complete without the Laekanois, registered breed or not

Speaking about recognising breeds, we had a lecture at the beginning of term and it just so happened that the guy was talking about dog genetics. Everytime a breed came up he asked "er.. what's that, a German shepherd or something?" I was the first to go *cough* Newfoundland *cough idiot*

Heh, I'm sorry. I purposely put the Hounds last so that I'd have the incentive to keep going in case I ever lose steam! xDD Maybe I'll move the terriers up though. hmm. >>;

Much as I love the Bouv, it's the Old English Sheepdog that's my favorite here, I adore the way it came out. And the smooth-coated collie has so much expression!

Old English Sheepdogs are cute. they're one of the only "doggy dogs" (aka non-sighthounds) that my mother particularly likes xD

I was actually attacked by a stray OES once, so I like them...from afar. Your rendition here is just adorable though, it's impossible not to smile at some of them.
You really are a wizard, you know. There's no way this is as effortless for you as it appears on this end, you're capturing the different faces and personalities of so many different dog breeds, I'm constantly amazed at your skill.

Aren't heelers and cattle dogs basically the same thing? x3 Except heelers have that white spot on their head? But my dog Bandit looks so much like the Aussie Cattle Dog; but she's a Red Heeler : D

The Aussie Cattle Dog's other name is the Queensland Heeler, or just plain Heeler. I just chose to put Australian Cattle Dog as the name on the icons

That looks awesome swifty! I love this group but then again I think I love them all. :3 I must say I truely enjoy the rugged look you gave the australian cattle dog. You depicted each breed very well. Although I only slightly disagree with the border collie one but that's because my BC is a raving maniac of a male! hahah.

It just looks so well-kept and show ready. Definitely an AKC standard which is not quite what my border collie looks like at all. hahah. He's a true roll in the mud, chase the mailman, and dive into the ocean type.

The sheltie's expression is priceless. The smooth collie looks a lot like one of the dogs I met at the dog park, and the cords on the puli are amazing.
Did you hear that the Tibetan Mastiff and the Plott hound and whatever else are now excepted members in the AKC showring? ((random))) xD I can't wait to see the rest of the groups if you continue the series!
