HOUND GROUP YAY. and I am done finally! I know I said I was going to do the FSS breeds, but I think that will have to wait a while. This really was quite a task. x.x;

I've looked at your other dog group icons and I have to say your skill at capturing is breed's features and such is FLAWLESS. You are so incredibly talented at canines, Swift, and animals overall! I really admire you and your art, and hope to someday be able to express my love for dogs through art as you do -- so beautiful!

I have to say though, if you want to be able to draw something then reference it from photos a LOT and truly understand how it is put together. I'm a believer that 'style' happens when you aren't trying for it because it's a part of you and it will come out subconsciously. Study the anatomy and be able to get it right first before you start having fun with it, and you won't go far wrong!

D'aww thanks Swift~. ^_^= I absolutely agree with you -- Referencing things from photos and knowing how it's structured is the best way to get REALLY good at drawing something. Though usually when I draw I don't use any references at all, unless I'm drawing someone's character or such, but there's always room for improvement. Thanks for the encouragement! :- )

I am doing AKC registered breeds only, and I have said this from the very start. If I did any more than I have done already at a stretch my head would just explode. I have also said that I will take requests once I am done with everyone. and I am now, so I guess I am taking requests!

You just keep getting better and better! Excellent jowl work there, especially on the basset and bloodhound - a huuuge change from your whippets, and if I just started watching you, I wouldn't be able to say you were more comfortable with one than the other.

My dog is a hound too! A toy hound, but still very much a hound. and my fursona is a hound. so yah the hound group is very much my favourite. :3

I'm guessing by your username and icon that your dog is a Whippet? xP You know what's weird? I've never really met a whippet before. There's a greyhound in my neighborhood. He's the closest to the whipper that I've ever seen.
No problem. I love all Basset Hounds, actually. Fur color doesn't matter. I just prefer the tricolor cause my dog is tricolor. That's all. x3 But yeah, anyway, no problem.

fursona is a whippet, dog is an Italian Greyhound. hence "toy hound". :3 And there is nothing weird about that, I haven't met a great many whippets myself. The few sighthounds I have have been lovely though.

Anyone in our neighborhood that has a hound other than a beagle or a dachsund is considered to have moved here from the South. xD Here in Chicago, we can be very stereotypical. And my mom doesn't help, cause she wears a cowboy hat out in public. x3 Point I'm trying to make is, barely any hounds were I live either. It's just nice to see another fan of the Hound group. xP

They ARE tiny greyhounds. They were produced by selectively breeding greyhounds smaller and smaller, not by breeding greyhounds to toy breeds, which makes them very much true hounds. I believe I've heard a story where trying to cross them with other breeds to make them even smaller resulted in their good temperament being spoiled.
I'm not from America originally so I don't really see what the big deal is if people are from the south. xD hounds rule!

Most people from the North os the U.S. stereotype Southerners as 'hillbillies' with weird accents and stuff. While everyone else knows us(particularly people from Illionois) as Chicagoeans. xD

I'm in NYC for college, actually. I have friends that could be classed as southerners and midwesterners and they seem pretty cool and smart to me. :3 Hey - there's no such thing as accentless English. No matter where you come from there will be some little thing in your speech. And if people can identify you by your speech as a "Chicagoean" then it sounds to me like you do have something recognisable there. And personally I think that is something to be proud of. :3 Somebody once told me he could tell I was from Singapore when I spoke and that made me really happy. :3

xD And naturally I am biased in the shorthaired direction, but I enjoy Afghans and Borzoi very much. Their 'fluff' is not just straight-up poof, it has a hanging quality to it that I actually really like drawing.

Oh, goodness, I've been waiting for these forever. I just knew you were going to do the hounds last, though, so I knew I was in for a wait. I absolutely love how they all came out. And of course I'm squee-ing over my favorites.

YAY I am happy you got her! I actually only got around to sending her off a few days ago because I've been down with some bug for a week. x.x; But yeah, the post has been weird and stupid for me lately so it's a relief to hear she reached you safely. And haha yes you said to put something on the back to signify it was for you, so I put a Payna there. xD I'm going to make it a habit to draw things on envelopes now, I think. It's fun and my coloured pencils look good on them.
