aaahh the only character in DotA2 I remotely know how to use just yet :c *nub*at least he's adorable! I mainly got into the game because of the character designs/lore (and peer pressure), so there'll probably be more to come.

XD I love how strong his venom attack passive is!! it's like 250 damage added to your attack at level 4~!, But then again the Plague ward can act like such a good shield and you can throw them down for mini ward vision or push towers. And the gale has 50% slow!! all skills are awesomes~

yas so many ways to play. I tend to just instinctively max wards first and go for the pushing power since that's what I was taught first but I've been playing around a bit more. dota is fun c:

Well...I start out being the support, but then my carry gets killed, and I pick up the slack, push the lane with the wards, become the overall carry, and leave everyone else in the dust. Veno just seems a bit too powerful to be a support I guess is what I'm getting at.

I can't extensively discuss gameplay and such because I'm still such a noobling myself and learning a lot, but yeah one of the things I'm having to relearn is being a lot more proactive and aggressive with him. When I first started playing and knew virtually nothing I was told STAY BACK AND DONT GET KILLED AND DON'T ATTACK ENEMIES UNLESS THEY'RE ABOUT TO DIE so I played extremely cautiously and though I didn't get killed much I wasn't leveling much either. Now that I've decided to primarily play Veno for a bit (was recommended I should focus on one or two characters first), I've been researching more and learning to how to effectively harass, push, and be more effective when I'm working with others. It's all a giant learning experience and a lot of fun!

Indeed it is VERY fun, why, just last game I managed to stack up to 5050 HP on Pudge (that's constant Rot/tower diving/ass-whooping power). THAT'S what I call fun.
I also did just what I said earlier today too; as Veno, my carry got behind me kill-wise and I ended up getting an Eaglesong that let me devastate anything that set foot outside their base. I'm sure once you get better you'll be able to turn supports into carries just as easily. Might I suggest learning how to play Troll Warlord? He's a very good agressive carry (being able to switch from ranged to melee is handy too).

I haven't tried Pudge yet but want to just because everyone else seems so grossed out by him xD!
Thanks for the encouragement! HMM I don't think I've really tried to play a carry just yet (well I did try out Naga in a bot game the other night but it all went to shit quite quickly). I will make a note to try! So many heroes so little time x(

Oh yeah, I'm still way behind on people I need to try...and I don't like Naga, I haven't played her, but when I support her she doesn't do very well. Some others that are easy to learn are Skeleton King, Lifestealer, and Dragon Knight.

I'm starting to get the hang of it though!! Yesterday I played the best game I've ever played and am excited to do some more. C: I'm only decent with Venom there at the moment (a friend told me since the number of heroes and the different ways they work is a bit overwhelming, starting out it's best to stick to just one or two), but I'm hoping to be able to branch out and play some other heroes soon as well. I absolutely love the designs of everyone and how much character they all have, and there's someone to suit everyone's aesthetic! Glad you like them toothy poison monsters too!

I've been tempted for sure, stopped raiding in WoW about 4 weeks ago (our guild collapsed and I'd lost the love for it) so I've been bumbling around doing other things, more art mostly ^^ Also due to start my bachelor's degree in Natural Science in a week's time, so I probably shouldn't indulge in even more addictive things haha, but thank you for the offer <3

OH MAN I've never heard of those "Dota 2" game, but after googling it I was delighted to see that Valve is the developer. VALVE YESSSSssss. Now if only they could devote some time to finishing the Half-Life story!
This is such a nifty critter (character? creature?) though, it's just so precious. Check out those cute little mandibles and adorable spit dribbles-- the perfect lap pet, no doubt. 
(Also, how have you been doing? It seems like forever since you last updated-- have you lost interest in dA, perhaps, or is life just busy for ya?)

Forgot to add that DotA 2 is still in beta mode at the moment (which is actually super fun - they have events and updates from time to time and it's fun to watch the game develop), but if what I've said about it interests you at all, I have a couple of beta access keys that I got off Steam as a random gift, and would be happy to let you have one!

Okay first of all YES VALVE ♥ and now a big ramble about the game. xDDD The original DotA (Defense of the Ancients) has been around for a while actually, being originally created as a mod for Warcraft 3, and more recently Valve has picked it up and given the developers funding to make it into a proper game. I didn't play the original but it was pretty big over here in Asia so I had some passing knowledge of what it was - amazing to me when I found out that most of my American gamer friends had never heard of it! It basically involves different characters that you can pit against each other in strategic battles, and it's all a bit complicated to explain in a few sentences because there are A LOT of characters, each operating differently, and a lot of items. Don't know if you've played League of Legends at all (I haven't) but that game was inspired by the original DotA and apparently operates with similar mechanics.
Anyway like I said I got into the game mainly because I really liked the character designs - I'm not generally into strategy-type stuff, but the combat is in real time and I have a solid bunch of people to play it with, so I enjoy myself. Since it was a mod, all the original character models were modified sprites from Warcraft/Starcraft etc., so redesigning everyone was a given, and I absolutely love what Valve has done with the characters and the lore of the game. Lots of nonhumans and monsters among the roster as well as your more typical knights and things, but there's tons of variety which I love! C: Check 'em all out here: [link]

[link] He's really fun to play because there's nothing like releasing poison clouds into groups of people and watching them slowly expire. C:< Good to know I'm not the only one that's a fan of giant fangs!!

(A mixture of both actually. dA in general seems to have less interest in me since I stopped posting dogs all the time (have been trying to expand my repertoire these days, also probably because I've gotten too busy to post much), so I've drifted a bit. I recently got myself a tumblr account ([link] ) to be used for fanart and some doodling purposes and it's probably where I post most often at this point, though as you see I still try to post to dA sometimes as well to stay in touch with my friends here.
How've you been? I've not been keeping up very well with people I watch on here unfortunately, and I'm glad to see that you're still around and posting your awesome beasties - even if I can't comment on 'em

Hahah not at all! I'm still working my way through the Half Life series at the moment (don't feel like I should play the rest before I beat the first one... I got into playing games late though they were always a part of my life in some way), though I've played Left 4 Dead and absolutely adore the Portal games I've fallen pretty hard for DotA despite it not really being my thing normally at all, Valve seems to have done for it pretty much what it did for TF2 in terms of making the characters/world fun and interesting which for me is *the* x-factor. It's great! And yeah I totally spend more time looking up stuff about/drawing the characters than actually playing xD!
It's also free to play at the moment since it's still in beta, trouble is you have to complete a survey to get a beta pass but the vast majority of people I know that signed up got one. I actually have several keys to the beta that I got randomly handed to me, so if you give me your steam name I can send it to you. You can totally play alone just to run around/practice or with/against bots if you wish.

Same here! I only recently started playing Valve games, although I've been a fan of them since FOREVER. My sister and I have even indoctrinated our niece... the kid's a born TF2 fan . 
So yeah, I LOVE Valve's style and they've never let me down. That said, DotA's definitely something I'll have to try out, as soon as I have a proper computer for it. Hahaha! But even now I'm digging all the rough-and-tough characters here... they're all so awesome that it's gonna be a battle just CHOOSING one. <3 Thanks so much for the offers on the beta keys! Whenever I get around to trying it, I'll be sure to drop ya a line!

I'm sure it will happen at some point, Valve has a pretty good track record of making their stuff mac-friendly! C: And if you're looking for excuses to download steam: regular amazingly-good-deal sales (though that could also be a minus because it's easy to spend a lot of money without realizing it - learned that the hard way), many of the games and counting being mac-friendly, tons of indie games that you can help greenlight, convenient networking to play with friends....... and the Portal games. There.
I probably spend less time actually playing the game than I do looking up stuff about the characters, searching for fun fanart and drawing my own >____>
