Here are two engines used by the North Eastern Railway for expresses on the East Coast Mainline, a Raven Class 4.6.2 (LNER A2) and a Worsdell Class 4CC. These engines were used for express services by the North Eastern Railway and the LNER on the East Coast Mainline. Neither of these classes are preserved today.Related content

Although the C8 is credited to Worsdell
It was actually designed by Walter Smith a pioneer in the design of compund locomotives, the Midland Railway Compunds are inspired in his concepts due to his friend Samuel Johnson
