Description Here's a sprite I've been wanting to do for a while, an LMS Fowler 3P 2-6-2T. The 3P tanks were built for light passenger services on branch lines and commuter services. Derby works built 70 of these engines from 1930 to 1932 and were numbered 15500 to 15569, but they were renumbered in the LMS' 1934 renumbering scheme as 1-70. BR renumbered them again by adding 40000 to their numbers upon nationalization. These engines were the basis for Stanier's own class of 3P 2-6-2 tanks, though weren't nearly as successful. None of these engines were preserved.

How on earth were such feeble tank engines numbered at the start to the numbering series?

I agree, quite an odd choice. The LNER's 1946 renumbering of their engines by wheel size made a lot more sense.
