Description How do you erase something which the world reminds you of every day? How do you look at someone through the eyes of the mask they wear to protect themselves, which is comprised of the same memories they fear, and believe them when they tell you that it "gets better"? How do you trust someone who doesn't trust themselves enough to stop running away from what hurts them? What is this obsession with formatting your mind?

Don't tell me everything will be ok until you stop hiding from me.

So let me introduce myself: I am loveless and damaged. I will use my suffering as a tool to guide you through yours. Even if I never forget, at least you made it out of the hell these liars put you through and that's good enough for me.

My memories are all I have, so I won't forget.

Hiding behind a mask of memories... clever, I like it.

As for the people... it sometimes feels like standing in front of a pool full of sharks, and they're telling you it’s OK, they don’t bite, you can go in and take a swim. Yet they stay on the edge of the pool, afraid to come in.

Also, the connection here between photographs and memories makes me think of an article I read recently, which is only marginally relevant to this piece, but still. It said how nowadays we rely on photographs to capture specific moments for us, so ultimately we end up missing the moment itself entirely. It’s sort of like writing down a grocery list so you don’t have to remember the items yourself. You rely on an external element to do the work for you.

The mind is dynamic, while the picture always stays the same, so the way you perceive a certain image/memory will be influenced by your current viewpoint, not the one you had at the time the picture was taken. That’s why I think it’s very important to stay engaged in our environment and our lives in general. People just seem to go idly through it all, not seeing past their telephone/camera screens. Eventually they’ll end up missing all the good bits.

Also, also... that hair is more fabulous than mine will ever be... and I like the new avatar

That's spot on. I'm taking it up in myself to put my phone down more often. If it weren't for work, I'd get rid of it. So fa, I do feel like my memory has improved and I'm not just coasting through life in neutral like these Texan troglodytes And yeah, the hair/avatar is fab, like totes mah goats omg LOL in all seriousness, the hair length also meant the passing of time. Time, memories, suppression of them.. all that good stuff..

As always, merci beaucoup, mon amie ^-^ you rock
