Description I've been wanting to do this for awhile. A brand new and even better Powerpuff Girls tutorial.

I love pencil sketches. It makes me think I'd be perfect for storyboard artwork.

Slight typo: "Buttercup HAS the least complex hair."

I use molded styrofoam coffee cups to draw my puff heads.

Like I said in the tutorial, I still just eyeball it. Sheesh, now it's been 11 years since I started drawing puffs! I still kinda miss the old forums.

Cool! I already drew Powerpuff (about 7 or 6) but it doesn't look like them either (in my drawing)

Great tutorial!

I really should be drawing these girls more, after all, they're one of the first real cartoons I grew up with!

A good tip, that I think I saw in an official PPG tutorial, was to keep the arms tapered. Just something to mention...

Good tutorial for the most part. XD

XD dunno why sudently I look for one tutorial about the "puff" style, and I found this again, something what I watched before

yeah, you really improved a lot since the last time, and I can say you draw the puff style better than me :3

in my case, I make diferent variations, trying to make my style the most human posible, that why I add more details in arms (dont like it look like is made of rubber ) and legs. but for one odd reason I always have problems in the dynamic, the proportions and in making better poses ^^u

I need tips XD

Thanks! Your puffs are cute, especially Trucy. Actually, you've improved quite a bit since I last looked at your gallery. There are a few things to work on, but you're better than a lot of powerpuff artists. For proportion, the only thing I saw was in "Soft Color Friends" in which the knee looks a little too low on the red-eyed girl. In terms of poses, I'd say you're on the right track. I especially like "Dark Angel" for the pose, and "Fairy Tale" is pretty good too.

Interesting tip concerning Bubbles' pigtails, coz I can never seem to get those looking how I want them to - both on her and on Daisy, whose hairstyle is a mix between that of Blossom and of Bubbles.

I have special ellipse templates for the heads, as I can't draw those freehand for the life of me. The arms and legs have come with practice.

I pretty much guess the center line with the heads, though I have tools for that as well if all else fails.

And to be honest, Blossom is quite easy to draw (though that may be because I draw her the most). Buttercup is undoubtedly the easiest of all (mainly because her hairstyle is so simple).

Thanks for the tips anyway, I'm sure they'll prove useful for a lot of people.

Thanks! Sometimes I wish I had some sort of template, but I've been drawing them so much without it that I guess I'm just used to it. I always draw the center line for the head, it just helps me know where and how far apart I need to place the eyes.

I never said Blossom was particularly hard to draw, just that she has the most accessories. Though sometimes I accidently draw her bow too thin. But to be honest, she's my favorite one to draw because of all the extra stuff.

Well, Blossom is my favorite above all, so I draw her much anyway. And as the saying goes, practice makes perfect, so drawing her for over 4 years helped me draw her massive bow and ponytail to near-perfection.
