- oldest child of Starlight Glimmer and Sunset Shimmer

- Daedalus took after his mythological namesake and got his cutie mark at a young age from tinkering with gears
- being an earth pony born to two of Luna's former best magical students gave Day a large insecurity
- however, given Sunset's loss of magic, he deals with this by focusing on what he can do: invent

- spends most of his days trying to innovate
- unfortunately, his first invention (a small kitchen device to help effectively cook and strain pasta with one pot!) has been the only one that has worked effectively
- he ends up doing a lot of toy making rather than inventing, but he one day aspires to be a full-fledged inventor

- stubborn, insecure, obsessive, cowardly
- creative, determined, parental, patient

- tends to ramble about things a lot, and not a lot of it makes sense to his friends
- loves mythology and often volunteers at the school and reads stories to foals
