Description
Β©Liliana Alves 2009This tutorial is about making ice stalactites, which you can use to create ice effects in plants or objects. That is up to you.
I developed my technique and adapted it to my personal taste and that is what Iβm showing here.
Hope you find it useful!

Hrmmm... I'm thinking I did something wrong.
[link]
I didn't have the circle selected when I used the Extrude feature. Did this happen because my circle is too big, or something? I'd really like some help.

To anybody else who has this problem, it happens whenever your circle doesn't have a background color on the same layer as it. The darker background must be part of the same layer as the lighter circle, the filter pulls from it to create the spikes.

Hey i found something you put in the wrong order, you should put the wind in as the very last step otherwise it is all curvy and whatever, and it doesnt look right
otherwise good tutorial

It's not in the wrong order. I do this in CS3, if you're using other I don't know if something can be different, but I think not.
Anyway, the steps order is Stylize Extrude- Stylize Wind- Polar coordinates.
You made some mistake because, all the people that already try this get the final result that I present.

ohhk well i use CS4 and if you do the wind after polar the wind lines are straight and not all curved, its just an observation, im not getting up you or anything, and you seem to be getting defensive about it, i just thought id let you know to see what you thought

No no...don't get me wrong...
actually I repeat this tut 3 times step by step and the result is always the same.
Do you enter the values right?
What about the circle size?

Ghost-Eyes In reply to SynfulEve [2010-01-21 02:05:19 +0000 UTC]
well all the values are right and ive tried the circles at three different sizes, and each time, the wind strokes put in it curve upwards and down in a sort of upside down 'u' but not as sharp i suppose. its sort of like a bracket ) but on its side ;D
