Thanks for the tutorial <3 I actually haven't read the whole thing yet, but I read enough to tell it's helpful. I can do the lineart well enough, but then always leave it to coloring to make something good look like crap -__-
Anyways, thanks again <3 can't wait to try what I learn

Wow, gorgeous tutorial for a gorgeous pic. I knew you had a lot of markers at your disposal, but I had no idea how many actually went into each of your pictures. VERY enlightening. Thanks for sharing the wisdom!

all in all, I'd say I have about 130-150 markers, some of which are repeat colors (I have 4 80% cool greys). But yes, there is a lot of color that goes into shading, even more for more depth. For most any marker picture in my gallery, at least 40 colors were used, if not more. This makes it hard, cause I hafta carry ALL my markers around with me if I wanna take them somewhere . . . .

Its about time someone did something else other then computer tutorials... but anyhoo.
I have been using prisma markers and have noticed that they usualy bleed or soak through the paper.
So I was wondering what kind of paper do you use or the best to use for prisma markers?

taintedsilence In reply to 0Pandoras0tear0 [2006-04-24 19:54:59 +0000 UTC]
they will bleed unless you use actual marker paper (a bit pricey, plus I like to use blending to my advantage) Even using 110lb. cardstock paper they bleed through, but they won't leave marks on other surfaces below the page. If you use anything lighter, you will have to put another sheet underneath to keep the markers from staining surfaces. Heck, a good paper (though it does bleed through) is the cheap wal-mart sketchbook paper - it actually has a very nice texture. That is what I used for this picture.

Walmart paper... never would of guessed. Would that be the 50IB or the realy thick type?

. . . the kind that comes in the sketchbooks. The spiral bound brown-ish sketchbooks.

Its amazing what you people can do with markers. ~bewilderment~ o.o; Frikkin looks like the thing was made of pastels or paint. Anything but markers.
Amazing. ~stares~

oh, I can't use pastels or paints at all! I hate the noise that pastels/chalks make on paper (ugh! *shudders*) and I just can't paint at all. No really, I can't.
