Description The Human Condition Collection - Part One

I took this shot with my old 1000d, one of the first shots i took. I've always wanted to do something with it, so decided to finally do an edit and see how it looks.

Statement wise, its pretty self explanatory. I think seeing the horrific shots coming from the oil spill in Louisiana, (Here's a link to some images Ive seen, [link] ) Subconsciously influenced me to start working on a collection based around pollution, human interference, etc... A lot of the themes I've already worked with. So expect more of the same. I still have never finished a collection and been satisfied with it, so hopefully this one will come together.

I'm sorry for my absence from DA as of late. I've had a lot on, and a lot of distractions. It's really irritated me since Ive just brought such an incredible camera and lens, I really need to get out with it more. But expect a lot more submissions from now on. I will be shooting a lot. The shot is really good, and has a great meaning put into it.

Overall the composition is great and transmits critique and blame with energy.

However, I think it had been better light balanced if you'd used the textures at the bottom and not at the top; kind of an allegory to the corruption.

I really like the effect the brown on the top gives the image. It adds to the meaning behind it.

Brilliant piece.
It's one of those one that you just sit back and take notice of.
It makes you think.
All forms of pollution are horrible, especially oil spills.
When you think of all the whales and dolphins that must drown on the oil when they breach, it's just horrible. =[
