Description Species Name: Reticulated Python
Python reticulatus

Average Adult Size: On average they grow 10 to 20 feet, but have been as long as 24 feet.
Diet: Opportunistic diet of everything from rodents to small pigs to small primates.
Habitat: Rain forests of Southeast Asia

Shot: Taken at Brad's World of Reptiles facility in Corvallis, Oregon

Comments: Having recently shed, you can see the rainbowy sheen on this adult's body. He is about 16 feet long. The Guinness Book record for longest snake, however, is a 24 foot retic. Although they are the longest snake in the world, they are by far not the heaviest bodied.
