never played wind waker but I'm hazarding a guess that its because the gods did so to protect the zora from ganon's evil, being corrupted, or unleashing an unspeakable evil...
with that said, ALL HAIL BREATH OF THE WILD!!

No one ever question how such an evolution happened in a timespan of a few CENTURIES?! Β Doesn't evolution take at least several thousands of years to happen?! Β Great, now I'm questioning Nintendo Logic!

nope, under extreme circumstances it can happen in just a small number of generations

Funny how Gorons, who would've benefitted the most from evolution ('cause they, y'know, sink) didn't.
Am I the only one just dumbfounded by this?

I think it's because, for Ritos, if they remained a Zora and never advanced, the mail after the Great Flood would always get wet, even if it were waterproofed.
My theory >.>;;

I find it funny that the Gorons, who would've truly benefitted from evolving (you know since they sink and all) didn't XD

so apparently water inst actually deadly to inklings. the squid research lab answered a question from someone about it. Apparently its not deadly to them but severely hard to do. or as they put it, its like trying to swim in oil to us for them. Due to the difficulty of keeping solid form I presume :-P
But enough on that. (sorry was buggin me XP) Love your art, The complete adorableness and well drawn style of your drawings. keep up the amazing work.

Umm.. Water is deadly to the inklings because of this number one reason:
INKlings.
Ink acts like paint when they get mixed in water it dissolves(I have NO idea how but it does). And Inklings are MADE out of ink so.. Inklings + Water = Dissolving Inkling.

but... inklings don't dissolve. they're just denser than water due to their evolutionary structural design, in wich meaning they sink instead of float, their physical body can handle water without dissolving their ink does dissolve though. so for example. the inklings flail around in the water like their drowning before splatting and flying back to respawn, you don't see them melting lol. I think alot of people seem to mistake that.
another thing to note. some people seem to think their ink comes out of their mouths or behinds... their head is where it comes out of lol.
