Description
After the incident with the soldier taken hostage, Colonel Coté's forces tracked the Shiks back to their main underground complex on the cursed moon of 23 Librae b, known to the enemy as Kasparov 16L. The strike, spearheaded by Coté's remaining 3 Decker mechs, was coordinated with the apparent shift change schedule of the Shik lookouts.Coté wants her fucking coat hanger back.
Part of my futuristic NATO's ongoing war with 's Shiks.
The Shiks are, once again, graciously used without permission.

She actually shipped out with four. One got taken out on 23 Librae b.2 by the Shiks.

And yet, in your works you only show #52 and #54. Is the third mech kept in reserve, or not just shown?
Had a story idea of the three back at their base area going through maintenance. And the short-range chatter between the crews over what to call their vehicles has Cote' and Golana listening in and having a mild amusement over it.

One of them (#51?) is currently in a utility configuration assisting in repairs to the Hachette on 54 Hydrae d. 52 and 54 are ready to rock. I'm not sure if the downed mech from 23 Librae was replaced or not. If it was, it would be a slightly different spec since it came from US Army stock.
I like that idea! These Deckers are high maintenance machines so they spend a lot of time at base getting tuned up.

Having been in the Air Force and Army National Guard, I know what it takes to keep equipment in good, functioning shape. As a former track driver, going through the Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Semi-annual and Annual maintenance check on an M113 Armored Personnel Carrier can and will take up a lot of the day. We spent one whole weekend doing this, from start to finish, as a regular drill meeting. And it helps in having many hands going over these inspections. Still, it eats up your day.
Hope the colonel understands this. Not sure what the Kasporav's (?) would be doing with their equipment. Probably the shiks would be grumbling just as well.

Goes outside with toast in her mouth thinking "Oh crap I'm late for my next shift!" as she races toward the door not wanting to be reprimanded.
As soon as she opens the door she stares into the face of a NATO Decker Mech and quickly closing looking behind her wondering how quickly she'll make it to the door..
