Description
Genetic Operations or more commonly known as GEN-OPS and officially designated as the 2nd Biochemical Warfare Division, is a shadowy black ops military organization that maintains a large Research and Development center for studying, experimenting and developing a wide array of deadly chemical and pathogenic agents for use in the field as well as a relatively small but highly trained force of special forces operators who escort GEN-OPS scientists in the field, guard vital research and development facilities, collect samples of viruses and chemical agents and conduct paramilitary operations deep in compromised civilian areas or enemy territory. GEN-OPS operators are deployed in times of serious biohazard and viral crisis to quickly set up quarantine checkpoints to contain any infections, collecting samples in order to create an antidote and clean up contaminated areas. In times of war against an enemy nation, they can be deployed to discreetly field biological and chemical weapons against their civilian populations as well as unprotected military targets, causing heavy damage to troop morale and the breakdown of social order.

They have some of the most advanced technologies in the biochemical field, with portable and full sized detectors capable of scanning people for any signs of the targeted infectious agents in an installed radius and laboratories equipped with Molecular Assemblies and Gene Forges to manipulate micro-organisms and chemical compounds on the atomic level allowing them to easily modify any of their biological and chemical weapons to suit their needs or create entirely new strains. This technology is also used to quickly manufacture antidotes and cures to contain and wipe out any infections by treating infected patients and sterilizing contaminated areas. GEN-OPS is also responsible for the creation of LUCIFER supersoldiers and the storage, further study and continuous development of the LUCIFER virus. Aside their scientific prowess, they also have an elite force of high trained soldiers specialized to fight in hazardous NBC environments complemented by a wide range of vehicles and military equipment ranging from jeeps to armored transports as well as transport helicopters and VTOLs to quickly deploy and evacuate GEN-OPS personnel. They also have their own heavy weapons such as attack helicopters, IFVs, tanks and artillery to provide some fire support, though they mostly outsource such support to BIO-OPS whose doctrine lies in large scale military action or the Regular Army and the Aerospace Forces.

The paramilitary arm of GEN-OPS draws its ranks of potential candidates from various military special forces such as SPECOPS and REKON, and send them through further training to fight in NBC environments and physical and mental evaluations to determine their suitability in GEN-OPS, looking for not just skill in combat but for ruthlessness and the loyalty necessary to carry out some of the most morally questionable orders in the name of protecting the Singaporean People as a whole and willing to commit war atrocities against enemy civilian populations and in some cases against their own people if military force becomes necessary to stop the spread of an infection and contain it. The military doctrine of GEN-OPS center around stealth and fast and rapid action deployments thus they focus on elite infantry tactics rather than the use of armored vehicles and heavy weapons to slip past enemy lines and field biochemical weapons where they are needed.

GEN-OPS Operator Equipment

1) Nano-Kelvar Hood

The Nano-Kelvar Hood trades the bullet proof protection of the standard M8M helmet for lighter weight and a menacing appearance. It protects the operator from flying debris and shrapnel as well as to some extent enemy fire capable of catching a pistol sized round and preventing it from penetrating through with tough intertwined layers of Kelvar fabric enhanced by nanomachining.

2) Contamination Prevention Module Gas Mask

An airtight gas mask with state of the art HUD display systems and a highly reliable air filter that breaks down or prevents harmful airborne agents and toxins from coming into the wearer's respiratory system. One either eye socket a Compact Micro-Scanner is mounted, which is used to scan a person for signs of infection during a quarantine. However this Compact Scanner is limited in its range and not all diseases or contaminants can be detected. The CPM is also durable and can withstand fire and acid to a certain extent.

3) No.2 Standard Infantry Body Armor System (SIBAS-2)

Consists of a Byroceramic hardplate armor piece mounted on a nano-kelvar ballistic vest as well as various Byroceramic hardplate pieces mounted on the shoulder and the knees, the SIBAS-2 or more commonly known as the No.2 remains the standard body armor for many of the IRS's infantry units with its low cost and effectiveness enabling it to be mass produced to equip some 3 trillion military personnel. The armor system is good enough to withstand bullet calibers up to 12.7mm and the Aegis Repellent layers electrolaminated on the Byroceramic armor can deflect lasers and plasma shots effectively and fully protects against shrapnel and flying debris.

4) No.3 Multi-Camo NBC Suit

A fully sealed airtight NBC suit that protects the user from nuclear radiation, chemical and biological threats. It has an electronic-controlled chemical reactant that enables the wearer to switch camouflage patterns, allowing its use in multiple environments. Durable, acid and fireproof, the No.3 NBC suit is also comfortable to wear with thermal conductors woven in the suit's layers that dispenses and regulates accumulated body heat to comfortable levels allowing it to be worn in the extreme hot and cold. The fabric of the NBC suit is also thinner and lighter compared to the 21st Century counterparts and a GEN-OPS operator can easily run around in it without feeling hindered by weight or air drag.

5) Edgeshield Multi-Purpose Equipment

A lightweight Cryomite-constructed object that can be used as a shield to block attacks or a sharp melee weapon to stab enemies in close combar. This is an optional but highly encouraged equipment to use especially in hot zones.

6) Arm Computer
-------------------------------------

A small lightweight arm-mounted computer used for accessing electronic systems, hacking enemy computers and as contingency measure to access the database if the HUD systems fail to do so. It has a decent battery life and can be recharged in the presence of light.

7) T56 Load Bearing Belt

Mounts a sidearm holster and a machete sheath as a standard along with ammo pouches, a holster for a water canteen and backpouches for extra miscellaneous equipment such as extra ammunition pouches or medical kits.

A more powerful version of the Compact Micro-Scanner mounted on the gas mask, this device can scan persons for signs of infection or chemical contamination more effectively. Has a library of all known diseases and chemical agents and can be programmed with additional ones.

These boots are made of extra-durable waterproof materials, keeping the soldier's feet dry and comfortable and the cleaning part made easy. The soles' design allows the soldier to traverse harsh terrain with not much difficulty and provides traction for slippery and wet environments.
