Description
I think the left arm works best from this angle. There's something a bit wobbly about it when viewed from the front.I wasn't happy with the lighting. We were all so cramped I didn't have much choice though, and everyone told me I was crazy (and probably more than a little annoying) for being so picky about everything.
Speaking of which, I also modelled up a torso of Michelangelo's David for the show, with the arms legs and head shaped to look like they'd broken off. I was working in my bedroom (college was closed for assessments) right up to the last possible submission date and then fucked up the mold. Doing a 3 foot high silicone skin mold on my computer desk in 3 days was not one of my better ideas. The two halves didn't fit together. Only by millimetres, but that still makes it impossible. I took the pieces in anyway to show people the tragic failure and they put them up on the wall anyway (though not without drilling through the neck of one and dropping the other from 8 feet up). They turned out to be the only pieces of sculpture in the show that attracted real interest. In the sense that a little gallery in Clapham wants to show them. Woo.
I'll try and deal with messages tomorrow, thanks for looking.

Oh, I worded that badly, I meant to say I modelled the torso to look like a stone statue that had all the bits broken off. I didn't take pictures of the two halves on the wall cause I was so disappointed and I guess I just forgot about them. I've just recast them for the gallery though so I'll get some shots once they're polished up. Oh and I can post pics of the clay too.
