Description
So I watched my friend play a tidbit of the "Journey" demo, and I had to try it out myself. I thought it was absolutely stunning, so I will definitely be picking up that game in the future. After looking at the stellar reviews of both game ad soundtrack, I purchased the soundtrack (only $4.99 for 18 songs) on iTunes and drew this little picture while listening to it. I've been unhappy with my art for a while and I'm ready to do something new. I'm actually really happy with how this one turned out. There are some things that I couldn't get right and eventually gave up to just finish the darn thing.I'm glad I was finally freed from my art block though. It's been rough.

Journey!
WHOO!
I don't have a PS3, but I've watched a bunch of playthroughs and I love it!
That scene where you're surfing down the sand at sunset with the cloth dolphins leaping out with you is just GORGEOUS. Not to mention the underground area with the scarf-kelp

"What is it?"
"It's a Sand-walker, Dean"
"Okay, so how do we gank it?"
"What, no! Dean, Sand-walkers are peaceful creatures. Since their civil war some decades ago, they only kill in self-defense. They travel in pairs, and run across seas of sand and fly in the air like we would would swim in water. It's said that underneath those hoods, they are the most beautiful creatures a mortal can lay eyes on."
"Okay, how the hell do you know that stuff?"
"Dean..."
"Okay Sam, then why is this on roaming the streets of eastern San Diego, alone?"
"I don't know Dean, I don't know...."

the soundtrack to journey is the best i've ever heard, and if it inspires art as beautiful as this, then that's proof enough.
you are quite talented. did you ever get the game?

I've finally gotten into Journey, and now I'm addicted! I love this Traveler art in the fact that it actually has more eye definition, no matter how slight. Very nice!

Thanks! That was my goal. The simplicity of the game is what make sit so beautiful, but I wanted to show some depth in expression

CTSael In reply to Techta [2013-04-14 05:37:56 +0000 UTC]
The Travelers are already quite expressive, despite not being very vocal about it. Primary usage of verbal expression is what makes them so captivating (and so does their appearance). The eye definition would surely help to further display individual character.
This is one of few games that have ever managed to make me cry at the end... and enthralling enough to have so quickly placed a firm foothold on my list of top favorite video games. And that's not an easy feat, I assure you. The list is filled with old classics, so a very recent game would have a difficult time succeeding unless it's a series continuation.

My first ever direct gaming experience was with Chrono Trigger (one of my top favorites). The very first time I played up to a certain point, I was certainly crying - from shock.

It's one of the most original in terms of storyline and characters, and it's very immersive and fun to play. I highly recommend it to anyone who has not played it yet. It's one of my favorites! (Yeah, the whole shock-crying incident was when I was about 6-7 years old, so it might not have as much impact on an older player.)

Try Final Fantasy VI, and perhaps Dragon Quest VI, if you need some games to try out. They're older RPGs too, but they're wonderful because they've also been created with qualitative content in mind (not some lame CGI shell that has no proper development to storyline or characters). And if you're a fan of PokΓ©mon at all, you might even like the Dragon Quest spin-off series, Dragon Quest Monsters. Look into them if you're interested.

im seeing pointy chins, hard edges...half moon eyes... ok I was getting carried away... actually you have no anime in your gallery, just awesome art with your own style.
I just get irritated being in all the Adventure Time groups as a fan of its unique, minimalist style, only to find that more than half of it is anime and most everything else is heavily influenced by it. I just didn't want to see this beautiful art style (from a game no less) get overrun too.
...your stuff is really awesome; you get a watch--hope it helps with the time.

I agree with you. I follow a lot of Transformers, and despite the fact there were a few anime TF series, the new (accurate) stuff isn't anime at all, and it really bugs me when people turn them into humanized anime slash things.
Thank you for the Watch though!
