Description
A Canvas of TimeWith this one, I simply wanted to create an Indiana Jones-type adventure poster with all the typical ingredients: danger, death, tension, skulls, south American paraphernalia and a big snake. I realize that I didn't incorporate any visible spiders, but I'll just assume that they flew away because of the light.
By now you know that I can't just create an image without something quirky inside:
So, I painted the background to reflect the action happening at the moment:
you can see the snake, the lady holding a torch, the strange alien statue and the adventurer as well (except that he lost his staff, apparently.)
This explains the title: the painting predicts the future. It don't look too good for them adventurers, no Siree. Actually, if I were them, I'd make sure to check the rest of the mural pronto!

The details you put in, just in the snake's mouth and the cracked skulls... they make the picture. Plus, the lighting you've created is awesome.

Beautiful detail! Not only is there wonderful detail in this painting itself, but with the story behind it. I love it when I can examine an image and imagine a story of what has happened, and what will.

I love how you incorporated the background! Great job mimicking the Mayan/Inca/Aztec/whatever (I always mix them up) style.
