Hi, I know this is very old but I have a question, does the same go for PMX editor? When I attempt doing there is no "Weight from half"

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Soniri-Chan In reply to Ihutai [2017-09-22 16:22:10 +0000 UTC]

You have to go in the Pmx View: EDIT (E) ---> Weight Related (W) ---> From Mirror Image setting Weight (N) the selection Vertex.

Note: You have to mark the part wich you want to be rigged or else its Mirrored xD

Hope that helps you if you didn't found out yet

after doing this the weighing...diddent mirror correctly at all...and deformed the head and actually destroyed the facials...I was JUST trying to copy over the eye bones so facials would be easier!

Instead of weighting the right vertices to the right bones, it weighted the right vertices to the left bones :/

DO you know how to weight hair so that it will stick to the model's head?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tehrainbowllama In reply to Admin-Creta [2015-05-02 17:12:26 +0000 UTC]

A simple solution to this would be to attach the hair's head bone to the model's head bone by assigning the model's head bone as the hair bone's "parent bone".

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Admin-Creta In reply to Tehrainbowllama [2015-05-02 21:17:51 +0000 UTC]

it won't work for me for some reason... I have lpmx editor v 2.0 and shift+ won't work to select bones...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tehrainbowllama In reply to Admin-Creta [2015-05-03 04:02:53 +0000 UTC]

Here's a tutorial on attaching things: www.deviantart.com/art/MMD-PMD… .
Have you tried selecting the bones with the "box tool" by selecting them with your mouse?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Admin-Creta In reply to Tehrainbowllama [2015-05-03 16:06:58 +0000 UTC]

No, and I gave up with the hair and chose another hair that actually sticks to the head when I move the head... Unfortunately, the mouth only has a few facials, so it can't sing when I put it to dances.... *cries*

MMD wouldn't, anyway. You need to use PMDe or PMXe.

ok thanks! so we need PMD editor? well that doesn't work on my laptop at all!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

namae-no-nai-uta In reply to icequeeniselsa [2015-03-14 22:07:24 +0000 UTC]

You may need to poke around at different versions of the program. My last computer would only run the English PMDe (version 6.- uh.... can't remember the number. 6.3, maybe? or 6.4? Anyway, I digress), and refused to run anything else. You may also need to update your direct x or .net framework or even both in order to run PMDe (or better yet, PMXe, of which there are also English versions).

renzo-senpai [2014-08-18 07:35:35 +0000 UTC]

What about the bone for the other side?

Does this half weighting automatically set the coordinates to the other half (in this case right side) of the bones too? or do I need manually place the bones first?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tehrainbowllama In reply to renzo-senpai [2014-08-18 15:07:48 +0000 UTC]

You need to weigh one side of the bones, and then, using this method, mirror the weighting from that one side you just rigged to the un-rigged side.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

renzo-senpai In reply to Tehrainbowllama [2014-08-18 20:59:17 +0000 UTC]

No, I meant the bones. Foe example: If the un-rigged (side) bones are unorganized, using this method would the un-rigged side's bones would be automatically placed too (likeΒ Right Arm: 0 0 0Β to Right Arm: -2 6 -1 following the left side) or not?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tehrainbowllama In reply to renzo-senpai [2014-08-18 21:50:45 +0000 UTC]

Oh, okay, sorry. Well, there is a method to mirroring the bones on a model. I featured it in a tutorial of mine here: tehrainbowllama.deviantart.com… .

I've got another problem which is very difficult to explain, but I'll try it anyway (in hope that someone will understand me):
I want to weight the pants. The part of the hips was made automatically but then I tried to weight the legs. I somehow clicked on them, marked all I wanted to an then tried to move, but it doesn't work. The pants are moving with the hips and not with the legs.. then I looked up, if I made it right and I did but I don't know.. anything isn't working..

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tehrainbowllama In reply to WeAreDrawing [2014-03-08 04:45:44 +0000 UTC]

That's rather odd... are you sure that any mesh at all is rigged to the legs?
