Notes: If any Sentai series deserves the Amazons treatment, it would probably be either JAKQ or (the subject of this miniseries) Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger. It has an amazing premise (Dinosaur Knights in a world of magic and danger, where friends and foes lurk on every side), but didn't really use it very well up until halfway through the series. Essentially, this version of Zyuranger is more along the lines of Lord of the Rings with Dinosaurs. It takes place entirely in a fantasy world separate from Earth, the characters are given more depth and the Dinosaur mythos is explored in more detail.

And here's where I get a ton of hate mail. In the original version of Zyuranger, Dragon Ranger was it's most popular character. Burai had the lion's share of focus, character development and plot because of his relationship with Geki. He was motivated by revenge because of how the Yamato Tribe King slew his father and took his infant brother. Only to then reawaken in the present day as Bandora's go-to assassin, trouncing the Zyurangers in their first encounter. In this version? Instead of being Geki’s long-lost brother, Burai is Geki’s father, the Black Knight. After being left for dead by the king of the Yamato Tribe, Burai was nursed back to health by the Witch Bandora and brainwashed to become her personal Knight. Wielding the Cursed Sword of Hellfire, Burai seeks to slay the accursed Zyurangers and avenge the loss of his sons.
