In one of my critiques for my muse designs, when I said I was considering designing Cupid, someone in the class remarked that they didn't think they had ever seen me draw a guy.

My friend piped in with "I have, they're hot!"

Anyway, Cupid hasn't shown up yet in my Rise of the Guardians fanfic , but he's been mentioned plenty by other characters. He is very important to the Muses and vise-versa, particularly Erato . But I don't want to reveal the nature of his relationship with Erato yet. Some of you already know, and I have dropped hints.

Cupid only ages a year every century, so for a very long time he was mentally an adult but still looked like a child. This caused a lot of angst and frustration on Cupid's part, as well as all the popular depictions of him as an infant. He's now gotten to the point where he looks like he's about seventeen and is so pleased.

He has two types of arrows, the gold to evoke desire and the lead to evoke rejection. He usually wears a quiver attached to his thigh (his wings get in the way of one that would otherwise go on his back), but the turnaround was already so cluttered thanks to his wings so I didn't include it. The bow was a gift, but from who? Not yet revealed in the story, but he's had the same one forever, he's very attached to it.

On his forearm is a tattoo of an anatomical heart with an arrow through it. Beneath his collarbone is a tattoo that says "Amor Vincit Omnia." Love conquers all.

Do you guys think I used enough red?

Also, he's most comfortable when flying. He can walk fine but he tends to knock things over with his wings fairly frequently. I think he learned to fly before he learned to walk.

Something Quite Peculiar - Chapter 01
Chapter One: Reminiscing
The cabin could barely be called a cabin. It was more of a hut: a building in the loosest sense of the word. It had four walls and a roof, a door, a window, and a chimney that looked as though it were ready to fall over. Truthfully, it appeared that a strong gust of wind could knock down the shack, with signs surrounding which read, “Condemned” and “No Trespassing.”
The small structure was concealed behind several large trees, and was incredibly easy to miss, nestled within the forest that rarely anyone ventured into.
It was always snowing around this cabin, regardless of the season.
Inside was exceedingly less interesting than outside, if at all possible. There was only one room, which contained a mattress and pillow in the corner, a fireplace that appeared to have not been used in decades, and a few shelves on one of the walls.
The shelves proved to be at least somewhat intriguing, containing items such as a matryoshka do
