I did another flash tutorial.It may take a few seconds until it loaded compleatly. We all know how slow DA can be sometimes^^
It explains some parts of my coloring style including my gradient shading. Its worth having a look at it.
Pls let me know if there are some parts you dont get/arent working and if there are mistakes.

Well lineart sketching is its own way and somewhat easy: It just needs a steady hand.
Its whole other thing when you try to work with non-lineart sketch into these kind of tutorials.

Close all outlines for inking.
I can imagine that the tree is going to be difficult with this technique.

Nice tutorial... but what if someone DOESN'T HAVE tablet? Pen Tool?

Yeah pen tool is for inking, but I know that people without tablet cant get the exact results like in the tut. This is the big prob of it.

you do it with a mouse, with patience, and set your brush opacity to a low setting and flow. its not the easiest of things to do, but people do it all the time.

Even though I use The GIMP many of the tools are very similar to Photoshop. I think some of the algorithms for the same tool are different, though. (For example, the gradients are very limited in what they can do.)
In any case, this is a very detailed and informative tutorial. Thanks for sharing!
