KarinAlignment: Neutral
Born: 50 Before Age (~800 years old)
Race: Senbyo
Home: Afterlife
Battle Power: 190
Occupation: Assistant to Earth's God
Goals: To relax himself by cultivating senzu
Bio:
Once an inhabitant of the Afterlife, he was selected to become an intermediary to Earth's Kami (God). He builds a stone altar in the forest beneath god's temple so that all who wish to meet god must first get his approval. Those who come to visit him are offered the chance to increase their strength by drinking a "sacred" elixir known as the Chōseisui (Super Holy Water), but they have to be able to take it from him. Unbeknownst to his pupils, the elixir is a sham and the training itself is what grants them greater strength. Those who complete his training and are pure of heart are granted a piece of the gigantic Kinto-un, which act as personal, high-speed transport. Strong warriors flying across the sky on clouds draw a lot of attention, and rumors about Karin quickly began to spread. He becomes known as a legend, “Karin the great Neko'sennin, a god of the martial arts”. This leads to the forested land in which he resides being renamed as the “Holy Land of Karin” in his honor.
More and more warriors begin to seek him out to undergo his training. The cat becomes overwhelmed with the number of martial artists requesting his tutelage and is forced to reject those he deems unworthy of his time. This angers some of the warriors who proceed to take out their frustration on the forest. To protect their land from these miscreants, the Karinga tribe settles in the area around the alter. Karin decides it is best if he separates himself from the Earthlings and forces these warriors seeking him to further prove their worth. He plants the seed of a tree beneath his alter and over the next few years, Karin's home rises into the sky atop the sturdy trunk. In honor of him, the Karinga clan places inlaid stone plates around the tree (and continue to do so every 10 years when the tree has a growth spurt), turning it into a magnificent tower.
For martial artists who are truly desperate for more power after completing his training, Karin offers these determined warriors the Chōshinsui (Super God Water). The drinker risks their own life to drink this poison, with the promise of grand power if they can survive. Overcoming the effects of this poison, a person can draw out their dormant power. Karin has allowed 14 martial artists to drink the elixir before Goku, but none of them live.
Notes:
Used the anime colors, I like them better. Nothing else to say, I don't guess.

Neko'sennin? They didn't know he was a cat... Also, he could've planted the tree in the 1st place...xD So, it's still growing O.o?

Planting the tree first makes reaching him harder, which takes away all the attention he gets (which is fairly important for setting up his background here).
Yes, it is still growing. Having been many, many years since it was first planted though, it doesn't actually grow that much during it's spurt..

OK, sure.
That's... Awesome! Wouldn't it reach Kami's palace in the end though? Or even SPACE O.o?! AWESOME! (Maybe you'll've to get rid of it eventually xD. Around when Caterpy comes out of his coccoon xD.) And how does the plate thing even work at this point? And now I'm trying to think of inspiration sources ...

If it could stay alive long enough, I suppose?
At the end of DBZ, it's been about 700 years since it was planted and the tower has grown to about ~8,000 meters / ~26,000 feet. After the initial growth period, the tree only grows every 10 years though and the amount of height it gains reduces the older it gets. Between DBZ and DBO, it will have only gained about ~60 feet. The plates that are being put on it help to support it and keep it straight instead of growing all over the place or letting gravity do it's thing, but they also prevent it from getting the right amount of nutrients. So it'll probably die before it gets too much closer to Kami's Temple.

Will it not? Uh, oh...
So... Kinda like Everest . No, I mean, like, who even does that O.o? People climb that O.o?! And... NOOOOOOOOOOO! Like, has it got a lifespan or sth? It's a magical tree... (Asterix xD) Isn't it there during the DBO era? And awm why not let the poor thing grow... ...Wait. How did you even calculate that? And, considering that... Thoughts on Goku VS Superman?

We're told its height in guidebooks, and DBO tells us was a tree and not a pure stone tower. Since the guides don't dover after the series ends and DBO doesn't tell us how much it grows, I picked that myself because I didn't want it growing a crazy amount. If it grew too much, it seems like adding the plates would be difficult.
Dragon Ball Earth is different from our Earth. They are more technologically advanced and don't have a lumber industry. So they have more oxygen available. That;s one of the only ways I can think f to make sense out of Karin Tower and Kami's Temple heights.
I have zero thoughts on Goku vs Superman.

...Huh. Well, I've got get my hands on those guidebooks... (Um... Correction, no, Japanese.)
Not lumber industry? You mean...? (Alt. sources of energy, I suppose...) And, well, you're the one that calculated the heights anyway... Also, OOOOOH, STRONG.
What do you mean (about GVS)?

It's a brief summary, not important until I iron out all the plot details with each chapter.
