Bio:
Nappa is an elite warrior from the planet Vegeta, and a hails from noble blood. Even by Saiyan standards, he's a bit of a roughneck. So, Nappa was assigned to be Prince Vegeta's aide and use his experience in the field to serve as the prince's squad leader. This attempt to help keep the royal Saiyaling in line proved a very difficult task, as Vegeta refused to follow orders from someone weaker than him. When told they needed to expand the squad, despite Nappa's best efforts to find a suitable partner, Vegeta randomly picked Raditz to join without even looking.
After Tāble's incubation period came to an end, he was briefly assigned to Nappa's care for evaluation...but was ultimately disowned and banished to the planet Loud due to his father's embarrassment. A short while later, the planet Vegeta would be eradicated at the hands of Freeza. During the planet's destruction, the squad was scheduled for a mission. Nappa was forced to accept different one to tackle solo due to Vegeta being extremely adamant about not wanting a bodyguard/babysitter.
Notes:
The characters from before planet Vegeta was destroyed. No real changes to them, but I did use kid Vegeta's Battle of Gods design and gave Nappa his Arlia color scheme just so I could use it somewhere. Tāble has a combination of his anime and manga hair styles...

Toriyama has told us Nappa was in his 50s when he attacked earth, which would put him in his late 20s, early 30s when planet Vegeta was destroyed. That's an adult.

Average Battle Power of lifeforms across the universe is 1,000-1,500. He never got much of a challenge.
Honestly though, it's just a terrible problem of the Battle Power system. Saiyans are split into classes by their BP from birth. Nappa was an Elite, meaning I can't make him much weaker without moving him to a lower class, and yet I can't make his older self much stronger or else gaps start getting too big for characters in the Saiyan Arc. I tried to make it work out as best I could, but there is only so much wiggle room. :/

Yes, there are always exceptions to every rule, so there are obviously threats out there higher than Nappa's 4,000-5,000. Nappa was always working with the prince after the planet was destroyed though. So even if the remaining Saiyans somehow found a warrior stronger than Vegeta on a mission, the prince has the Power Ball technique to create the artificial full moon. Nappa, Raditz and Vegeta's powers all get that 10x boost on command, pushing baldy to 40,000-50,000. Most Saiyans don't have that "luxury". So if they get beaten up and manage to survive, they are rewarded with the power boost. But Vegeta's group of survivors never really went through that.

Very true, I remember reading some comment a long time ago claiming no way Vegeta was 180,000 (Oozaru) that early but eh it's true haha and it's not really that far from Namek Saga

First, Nappa has no confirmed height whatsoever, and he is constantly depicted at different sizes in the franchise. Second, this is part of a hybrid scaling system basing heights off most common appearance and not Toriyama's changing art style, thus Nappa is scaled according to Goku and Vegeta's corresponding heights from Cell-Buu, after the prince is no long drawn so extremely short.
