Description Notes:
So, to start things off with this interpretation of the chart, most of the description is no longer on the deviation itself. The unfortunate truth is that this page became way, way too long because the DB franchise never stops adding transformations. There will inevitably be more Saiyan transformations on the horizon, too. They drive merchandise sales.

Anyway, you can now find all the information in this Google Doc: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…

As always, there's no need to ask about whether I will be including a form or why I haven't added any potential new transformations to the chart. This document will likely be kept up to date with at least acknowledging new forms as they're revealed. However, I will still be waiting for them to fully debut in the their respective media (anime, manga, games, whatever) before deciding what I'm doing with them in regards to the project.

-*-*Disclaimer*-*-
The series of submissions labeled under the title of DB Redux are part of a fan rewrite of the official series. Anything that you see in the art or description that varies from the original manga or anime sources is most likely intentional. While I appreciate that you are taking the time to look at my gallery and notice these differences, I do not require a comment on what needs "correcting" because it wasn't "originally like that".

However, if you'd like to discuss these changes, or the project in general, you're welcome to join my DB Redux Discord server  for the community members, an early look at finished & WIP character art and links to full battle power lists.

Thank you, and please enjoy!

So I have to ask, but are there any plans to incorporate Saiyan Beyond God and the supposed stage beyond it into this project somewhere down the line?

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2015-03-31 10:16:44 +0000 UTC]

Well, seeing how my project was the combination of most the story material in to a single timeline, I had altered how Super Saiyan God is achieved in my project in order to help make some sense out of the general occurrences of GT. So I'm not entirely sure if the "Saiyan who surpassed God" quasi-form will really fit, but the blue god ki version of Super Saiyan should be easy enough to just tack on to how I'm treating Super Saiyan God...

This is all just speculation for now though. There aren't a lot fo details and I haven't even seen a summary of the film, let alone the footage itself. So I won't say anything with 100% certainty. I mean, Toriyama is adding in all these super godly transformations, but there is always the possibility he could strip them away to better match back up with the Uub material or something. So I won't commit to anything. I need to remain flexible until I reach that point in the story and potentially need to stop accepting new material int the project...

I just have to say, but "Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan" is like the dumbest name thing could have come up for the thing.

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2015-04-10 20:34:48 +0000 UTC]

It's not the dumbest, but it is too literal, which makes it redundant.

Demigodofshinigami In reply to The-Devils-Corpse [2015-04-11 00:04:52 +0000 UTC]

They could have gone with Super Saiyan beyond God, they could have gone with God Super Saiyan, they could have even gone with just Super Saiyan (God Ki), but no, they went with redundancy.

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2015-04-11 00:08:46 +0000 UTC]

That doesn't make it "dumb". They could have went with some of the names fans have been coming up with that are nothing beyond "funny", but thoroughly dumb.

Demigodofshinigami In reply to The-Devils-Corpse [2015-04-11 08:13:18 +0000 UTC]

I'm not saying it is "dumb," I'm just saying they could have gone with "Super Saiyan beyond God" since they were already using "Saiyan beyond God" for the "base" state Goku uses.

That was only a Heroes thing though. Not everything that game does applies to the rest of the franchise. :/

Still, couldn't they at least have come up with a shorter name?  Doesn't help that the alternate name is Super Saiyan God SS.

Meh. Most people abbreviate the names anyway. SSGSS isn't that long.

So question, does the ritual to get Legendary Saiyan God involve the god giving the Saiyan godly ki which then leads to them joining the pantheon, or are they accepted into the pantheon first, which then leads to them getting godly ki?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2015-04-20 01:06:55 +0000 UTC]

Ki is the life energy of living beings and consists of many elements such as genki [energy/vigor], yuuki [bravery], and shouki [being in one’s right mind], just to name a few. This energy flows through the body on paths called meridian channels, each with many meridian points (which can serve a variety of functions, such as storage). Many factors about these points and channels can affect a person's overall ki. Someone like Mr. Satan has a very basic ki flow with many blocked channels and little access to meridian points, while Goku has a large ki that flows through many channels and meridian points. It is easier to train and unlock these channels if you actually have an understanding of ki, but it's not impossible for the oblivious like Mr. Satan to make some progress...though they don't typically live long enough to have a massive ki doing things the hard way.

To become a god, someone familiar with the ritual must alter the way your ki flows by unlocking specific points and pathways connected to the soul that are virtually impossible to access under normal circumstances. The ritual is sacred, and is supposed to be forbidden unless it is being performed on someone who is is taking their place in the Dragon Universe' pantheon. Just like everything though, there are always exceptions...

Demigodofshinigami In reply to The-Devils-Corpse [2015-04-20 02:19:32 +0000 UTC]

Two things:

1) So how actually is godly ki gained then; is it converted from the mortal ki of the person the ritual is used on, or does it just appear in the person's body once the ritual is done, completely out of thin air?

2) Do the meridian channels and points have a general layout through a person's body similar in structure to the body, or is there really no defined structure to it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2015-04-20 07:18:54 +0000 UTC]

The specific number of channels and points are different for each race, but it's generally the same type of layout. Creating those charts for each species would be a ton of work though, so I won't be getting anywhere close to that specific for the project. Here's a real world meridian chart used in places like China for ki practices and stuff like acupuncture. It'll give you a good enough idea: i.imgur.com/VFHdxZa.gif

God ki isn't a completely different type of ki or anything. It's nothing more than a subtle alterations to the energy's particles, via the sub components, as they flow through the new channels/points opened by the ritual. If you know anything about chemistry, you can just consider it as something similar to molecules forming new bonds through a process like hydrolysis. I guess that's a decent way to describe it. I don't plan on going much deeper into an explanation than that. Ki is still a mystical force. It's pointless to try and break down every aspect to how it works scientifically or anything.

Demigodofshinigami In reply to The-Devils-Corpse [2015-04-21 03:54:45 +0000 UTC]

So wait, why is it called "god ki" then if it's just alterations to normal ki?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2015-04-21 04:41:56 +0000 UTC]

Because only gods typically have said alterations, as they usually only result from the channels/points available after the god ritual unlocks them.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Demigodofshinigami In reply to The-Devils-Corpse [2015-04-21 06:15:18 +0000 UTC]

So what do the alterations actually do to the ki, besides making it stronger?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2015-04-21 07:35:13 +0000 UTC]

Divine Ki is just a premium fuel for the body, allowing things to run smoother. It's not actually stronger than regular ki, it just has more benefits/side-effects/whatever you want to call them. Stuff like:

Unable to be sensed by non-god beings, like in the movie.
Much easier to manipulate, meaning less effort on behalf of the user.
Less required than regular ki for equal power in techniques or stat enhancements like supplementing physical attacks.
Not always compatible with techniques designed to function with regular ki (like Kaio-ken, being why Kaio couldn't master it).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Demigodofshinigami In reply to The-Devils-Corpse [2015-04-22 03:56:36 +0000 UTC]

Actually, can Goku use the Kaio-ken in any Super Saiyan state past the first one, or would anything past 1 just kill him after use?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2015-04-22 04:10:20 +0000 UTC]

Kaio-ken with any (non-god) Super Saiyan form will cause too much damage to the body, with the damage getting worse the higher the form. The only time it can be attempted with any amount of safety is with the first level and only while dead and in short bursts.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Demigodofshinigami In reply to The-Devils-Corpse [2015-04-22 05:07:56 +0000 UTC]

Then what about Hitozaru?  Doesn't that count as a new "base" state or something?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2015-04-23 23:30:03 +0000 UTC]

It's effectively a new base state, but its still achieved by combining two forms incompatible with the technique. It (currently) draws out Saiyan potential to the non-god limit with its multiplier. Amplifying something that large even further will do major damage, even though the form itself doesn't really cause any stress.

Demigodofshinigami In reply to The-Devils-Corpse [2015-05-08 06:02:13 +0000 UTC]

One more question, but in your project is it called Godly Ki or Divine Ki, or will it be interchangeable?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2015-05-10 03:10:37 +0000 UTC]

Divine Ki within the context of the story.

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2015-05-18 03:02:17 +0000 UTC]

Yes. They get stronger by utilizing said paths via triggers, the same as people with hidden potential, like Gohan.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Demigodofshinigami In reply to The-Devils-Corpse [2015-05-18 18:48:56 +0000 UTC]

So Hitozaru is basically them opening most, if not all, of the normal channels in their bodies?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2015-05-18 22:02:04 +0000 UTC]

Assuming there aren't any other new transformations that are introduced that aren't god related, then I guess so.

That logic doesn't work. Saiya-jin, which means Man/People of Saiya. While pronounced "hito", the character used to represent "man" in my form's name is the same as the character for "jin".

Teoma-The-Naraotor In reply to The-Devils-Corpse [2015-04-12 23:45:49 +0000 UTC]

I used to associate man with mankind/human not extraterrestrial being like Saiyan
So in my view Hito is more use for people like Yamcha or Chichi

Japanese logic is quite weird ^^

In Dragon Ball, various terms like that are used to denote a humanoid being, regardless of species.  Piccolo, Freeza, Ginyu, Vegeta, Bluma, Oolong, etc are all "humans".

I have to ask, but if the God Ki enhanced forms no longer exist, then why is SSJG still referred to as LSSJG in this?

Also, I'm not sure if anyone has asked you yet but what is your take on the Super Saiyan-esque form that Goku used on the Ginyu Force in Hell?

I have to ask, but how are you going to approach the power multiplier for Hitōzaru God? Are you going to make the multipliers for Hitōzaru and God stack with each, add the multipliers together, or do something else entirely?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Devils-Corpse In reply to Demigodofshinigami [2014-08-05 17:55:33 +0000 UTC]

The intention is for them to stack, but I honestly can't tell you how it will actually end up until I get there. The arcs after Buu are going to be written via a combination of desired plot and referencing battle powers from the previous arc as well as intended powers for the arc being written.

Demigodofshinigami In reply to The-Devils-Corpse [2014-08-06 03:44:19 +0000 UTC]

You do know that if you end up stacking them you're going to get a power multiplier in the millions, right?
