I'm curious, because I do like a lot of your story changes...how much is Roshi actually going to accomplish in the Tournament of Power? The anime's premise behind including him is that he has a lot of experience and a wide variety of techniques, but techniques and experience don't mean a damn thing when every other fighter in the tournament is BARE MINIMUM an order of magnitude stronger than you. Anyone he tries to fight should one-shot him before he can do anything, and his techniques should all be completely useless against everyone anyway. Frankly it should be possible for someone to accidentally eliminate him by powering up too close to him. So how are you going to handle him? I know you're waiting for the manga to finish the arc before properly mapping out your version, but I imagine you have a vague idea at least.

He and the others will be getting a power buff, but probably not as big of one as most people who care about powers would prefer. Honestly, I don't have much of a problem with how the anime treated him for most of his fights. It's a tournament where killing is prohibited. So the majority of the fighters have to hold themselves back while gauging their opponent, which leaves them open. And I'm all for techniques being used creatively, and not just being ineffective because someone is too strong. That's one of the things I'm hoping to make more consistent, where more specialized techniques are effective regardless of who they're used on.

I guess...if you can write him in a way that makes the slightest bit of sense, good for you. Honestly for me, Roshi's treatment ever since Resurrection 'F' has been baffling and drives me fucking nuts, so if my question felt loaded chalk it up to personal bias. Roshi stopped being a relevant fighter when he died fighting Piccolo, and for the entirety of Z he was the "lovable" pervert/guy who explains things to the non-fighters. Why try to bring him back as a fighter now, when everyone is unimaginably stronger than him? He was perfectly fine where he was, and his roles in Resurrection 'F' and the Universe Survival arc seem ridiculous and forced, not to mention impossible given, again, how astronomically weaker he is than EVERY other character. For example, how can the fight against Freeza's army be too dangerous for Yamcha, but not Roshi?!

That's an issue mostly unpresent in my version of events. I know it's a lot to follow along with due to being scattered across a lot of sources, but (as noted on the BP submissions) Roshi continues training even after the Piccolo incidents. He never makes as much progress as the others because he's training by himself and not actually aiming to take on any of the threats, but he's still improving. Stepping out of the front lines doesn't mean his students don't still inspire him to test his own limits at his own pace.Β
Likewise, Chaiotzu has actually mostly given up fighting, besides helping Tenshinhan train, but theΒ lines about Yamcha aren't included. He's still training a bit on his own too, same as Roshi. He's not a powerhouse, but he is still a martial artist. He joins in the battle against Freeza's army in my "F" and is considered as a legitimate tournament participant for the Tournament of Power prior to the realization there might be girls there.

I never realized how tall Tenshinhan actually is. He's almost as tall as Piccolo Jr., damn. I wonder if he actually suffered from Mister Satan syndrome in the actual show(s)...
I like how everyone's motivation here is just to survive... well, except Goku, but he's just, you know, Goku.
Also, I kind of like your version of Yamcha's exclusion over Super's "we forgot about him cuz reasons". But why did they choose Freeza over Cell in YOUR version?

Besides the children, all the characters are intended to be the same height once they reach adulthood. Goku, for example, is given the same height at the 23rd Budokai against Piccolo as he is at the end of the series. However, in the series proper, they change heights all the time. Take Kuririn, who goes from being a head shorter than Goku at the start of the Saiyan Arc, to only around a head taller than the very child-sized Gohan by the time Vegeta and Nappa arrive.Β
Yamcha backs out around the time the tournament is set to start, so they wouldn't have time to resurrect Cell and train him to not be pathetic in comparison to basically everyone else. They don't know how powerful the other universes will be, so they go for the strongest bad decision they can make.

Nice to see the return of Revival of "F' outfits for Goku, Gohan and Vegeta (Specifically Gohan's haircut and fixed shoe colors)Β instead of the old outfits they made; and my question is, why didn't you keep the tail for said Goku and Vegeta?
I may understand Gohan since he has to fit in with other Human-type Earthlings, but i dunno it would be to see their reaction as they had the tail or something.
Oh and good to see the explanation about how Yamcha is not recruited due to girl(s) problem he still has, especially from other universes, which it's understandable.

The tails are something they're capable of easily regaining now.
Goku is carefree and doesn't mind if he has his or not, and so isn't worried at all about whether it gets destroyed or ripped off in a fight. He hasn't regrown his yet since the battle with Zamasu.
As Bluma's husband, Vegeta occasionally has to appear "normal" as well. So while he doesn't like losing his tail, he deals with it because he can get it back with little trouble. Being pregnant, Bluma has more visitors coming over to Capsule Corp and Vegeta isn't off training, so she doesn't want him looking out of place.

Toriyama draws the Toribot in those tracksuits these days because he actually wears them in real life. There's no way he didn't start putting characters in them on purpose.
Vegeta, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Kurirn, etc. Basically everyone is two years older due to the trips into the RoSaT in the Cell Arc. And at least another two years for the Tournament of Power.
Vegeta's peak what? If you mean power, then no. They'll continue to keep getting stronger till the end. Because that's how the show works. If you mean his age, then yeah. If he keeps making trips in there, he's going to hit 70 sooner rather than later.

Hybrid, not "mutant". And it doesn't matter. Even if he does have alien blood, it'd be far back in his bloodline. Not enough to list him as anything beyond Earthling. Similar to how the "Earthlings" in DBO went Super Saiyan, despite being called Earthlings.

That was the explanation given in a recent magazine article. But you don't really need an article for that, as the show went out of its way to make everyone forget he was a fighter. The project doesn't always stick to official material though, so just like with their choice of outfits, I'll do what I want/like.

The only one who ever said he turned into a playboy was Bluma, who was probably just jealous he was getting attention from other girls, even if he was scared of them. She has a habit of blowing things out of proportion when they don't need to be, and taking huge things too lightly.Β
