Description
Drifter, Sheol, Brian, Ajak (x3), Twi-MekDale Warren had been selected to replace Don Branch as Beacon. He took the heroes place on the Protectors. Then he realised it was pointless. The universe was too big. A small band of superpowered beings living in one city, couldn’t tackle the issues spread through the galaxies he was accountable to care for. So he left the planet. He left the solar system. He became a cosmic Drifter, travelling from planet to planet, righting wrongs. And he found other wanderersof the spaceways, now banded together under the name of Warren’s old high school football team, the Roughnecks. Sheol left her home of Utopia many years before her Immortal brother and sister were convinced to abandon it by former Beacon, Don Branch. Since then, she has used her earth-shattering scream and ruthless cunning to make her way as an interdimensional bounty hunter. She also found a partner: the talking sentient time-travelling, space-adventuring beaver called simply Brian. Together, they were looking for the next score. The job to end all jobs. Bagging a Beacon came with a big bounty. However, over time, Sheol and Dale become something more. Not lovers. But flirtatious frenemies. Using her ship, they began hunting down bounties together. When rumours of a rogue Beacon traversing the universe reached the other keepers of the Flame Eternal, they sent a man to investigate. The mightiest Beacon and their wisest scientist happen to be one individual. Ajak is of a race capable of enhancing their bodies when combat is required. When he first encountered Beacon, he single-handedly bested Dale. It was only Sheol’s intervention that called down local officials who punished Ajak as a criminal while the bounty hunting duo escaped off-world. In the years that followed, Ajak was made to be a gladiator, killing for the masses. And his Beacon powers deserted him, seeing him as no longer a viable candidate. Stripped of his old purpose, he found new joy in entertaining the crowds. He lived for the thrill of the sport. Then Beacon and Sheol came back on another mission that ended in their killing of the monarch and the crumbling of the empire. Ajak had lost everything because of them. Again. This time however, they could promise something better. They could do with muscle. If he joined them, he’d have the whole universe to beat up. He begrudgingly accepted. He also bought along his empathic shapeshifter Gladiator colleague, the silent insectoid Twi’Mek. Twi’Mek is a prankster and frequently pulls practical jokes on all but Ajak. Only Ajak thinks they are funny.
