Description OPEN FOR CRITIQUES!

Hey guys, I'm trying to get my third character in. If anyone inside (or possibly outside) the group wants to nitpick my application, feel free too. I'll appreciate it. ;3

Edit 1: Changed her history a little bit and shortened the extras. Also gave more explanation to her Job and her Disease.

Edit 2: Via request by the mods, I tweaked her history and disease to be more accurate, as well as simplified her personality and cleared up any contradictions. Also gave more info about where she came from/where she was born.

Edit 3: Changed the Species and added a Show Outfit in the Extras.

Edit 4: She's finally in! I just had to go back and fix a few inconsistencies as well as tweak her history a bit so that Arin doesn't know about Mr. Dark and such.

Name:
Lovett Sophia Earnn
Original Name given by the Orphanage: Lovett Sophia Morin
REAL Name: Elizabeth Maria Harth

Age:
27

Gender:
Female

Height:
5’ 6’’

Pokémon:
Clefable

Ability:
Cute Charm- This ability may cause someone - if they were to physically attack Lovett - to become infatuated with her for a brief moment. If the attacker does indeed become infatuated, they will be less likely to be able to lash out at her again so long as the ability is still active. However, this only is effective against the opposite gender, basically men in Lovett's case.

Birthday:
October 28th (presumably)
Real Birthday: October 16th

Hometown:
Lumiose City (presumably)
Real Hometown: Shalour City

Job:
Panphy/Donphan Performer- She’s basically an elephant performer, doing tricks as well as most of the training with these large Pokémon in the Bigtop. She does things like make them balance on podiums, throw balls, play with the other Donphans, or even rides on them occasionally. To get a better picture of it, here's a video- www.youtube.com/watch?v=n19Mpn…
Of course because she's just one woman, she performs with far fewer than in that clip. Maybe at most two grown Donphans or two grown Donphans and a little Panphy.

Wish: “I wish that my stupid bones could hold themselves together for once…”

All Lovett wanted was to be able to perform at her beloved Circus of Miracles again, but thanks to her Osteoporosis, a disease that left her bones brittle and easy to break, she was left unable to. So it was a simple little wish she made, more of a joke to cope more than anything. Little did she realize that by uttering these words, she put herself on the path to worse pain than she could ever imagine.
As a result of her wish, on the grounds of the Circus, she’s healthy for the most part. At most, her joints feels sore here and there, some days worse than others, but at least it's tolerable. She can get by most days without too much conflict.
However, if she leaves the grounds, after about two hours her time begins to run out. Rapidly her bones will start to build up too much strength. So much, in fact, that they start to fuse together at the joints. While they may in fact be harder to break now and hold themselves together pretty well, they will become so stiff and solid that she won’t be able to move anymore, much like a rusty machine that hasn’t been oiled in years.

If she isn’t back at the grounds after another hour, she will have bones like stone. Heavy, stiff, and unable to move without a great deal of effort and pain.

Sooner or later, starvation will claim her life. Either that, or she’d have to live out the rest of her days in bed, being fed by someone else. Neither option is favorable.

Personality:

Pros: Bubbly/Charismatic/Even Tempered/Energetic/Loyal
Neutral: Stubborn/Artistic
Cons: Arrogant/Nosy/Clueless/Blabbermouth

Lovett is overall a flirtatious, friendly, and even tempered woman, never one to get easily angry or stressed out. She can be bold and loud, but she tends to not mean any real harm to anyone. She’s a good sport when it comes to activities, and is always one up for a friendly competition. If anything she doesn't mind playing at least five more times even if she is horrible at said game, she just enjoys the thrill of spending time with others. There's just some kind of fuel she has that keeps her going when most others might be tired at the end of the day, it seems.
You can always count on her to liven up a room with her presence and attitude. Full of unrelenting optimism, no matter how horrible things are most of the time. Even when trapped in this Circus, she tries to look at the bright side and keep that peppy demeanor. Or at the very least, keep that happy face on days she's down just so others don't get all concerned and fretful.
While she tends to just go about her business, if you do manage to become one of her dear friends, she’s pretty loyal to you even to a fault. She may show it in subtle ways, such as little gifts here and there or passive aggressive comments to people being mean to you.

She’s very passionate about what she stands for and believes in, so often Lovett sticks to her side of the argument and doesn’t relent unless she’s proven she’s wrong about something.
After spending most of her childhood in Kalos, she’s grown to love art and the nature of it. She used a lot of her free time to sketch and draw, and got quite good at it. She appreciates most forms of art and anyone who can do it.

If there is anything bad to be said of her, she is very picky about her own appearance, caring a little too much about looking presentable for others. She was a popular performer after all, so she just had to look her best. She also likes to brag about herself, proud of her achievements but also unaware that this might be a bit too much for others to take.
To boot, she is also painfully curious and nosy when it comes to others, though she doesn’t mean to be. She just sees it as being friendly and talkative. You guys are working with her, why don't you want to just talk about yourself for a little while? Relax and maybe get a few drinks to even things out? What's the big deal, right?
The problem is everyone in her own Circus were just very open with each other, and she doesn’t realize yet that folks in Circus Darkrai would rather keep things to themselves.
In order to really get her to understand that you do NOT want to talk about things, you need to make it clear with her else she'll never stop bugging and poking you for information, which really can get on people's nerves. And even THEN she will still be curious about why you are keeping it to yourself. Why is it so bad to talk about it? It's a cycle that just never seems to end with this one. This same ignorance can be applied to secrets, and unless she is specifically told that you DON’T want her spreading the word, she might mention it offhandedly in a conversation. It will take some time for Lovett of fully understand to KEEP THINGS TO YOURSELF. Don't just go talking about what a person did or what they think about someone they don't get along with without their permission like that.

Still, despite it all, she enjoys most company and doesn’t mind wasting time with others. She can easily become a fast friend if you can get along with that outgoing personality.

History:

Shortly after Lovett was born in Shalour City, her parents Cian and Jeanine Harth were overjoyed, but also troubled. The young couple were very poor and on the run. Their wealthy families had disapproved of their marriage, so they eloped to escape them.
Constantly moving from city to city, Cian struggled to work and make enough just for the two of them to eat, much less a baby.
They debated with each other for a long time until finally they decided that it would be better to give the girl up for adoption.

She would at least be clothed and fed by the Orphanage or maybe even a new family.

With heavy hearts, they did what was best for their baby girl and dropped her off at the Lynold Orphanage, one of the better Orphanages in Lumiose City. She would be well taken care of there. They left no note or identity to connect them to her, not wanting their daughter to get mixed up in their hectic lifestyle.

The caretakers discovered the poor little Cleffa in a basket the next morning, crying loudly. They took her in and raised the baby girl along with the other Pokémon Children, giving her the name ‘Lovett’ and assigning her the last name ‘Morin’ since they had no idea who her parents were.

Time went by, and life was pretty good despite everything. She was taught to read and write with the others, and fancying herself an artist, though very young. She even had a habit of sticking her ‘masterpieces’ up on the walls of the rooms.
Lovett was a shy girl, preferring to keep to herself, not wanting to stand out too much against the other children. Even so, she made a few friends that she was perfectly content with.
Yet as the years passed, Lovett discovered that while she certainly wasn’t unhappy at the Orphanage, she just was…bored.

It was the same old building, the same rooms, nothing ever changes.

The most variety she would see were the new kids or the potential parents.

Every day, she would sit at the large window in the room she shared with a few other girls, watching the beautiful, bustling, city. It was like a dream, seeing the colorful streets of Lumiose, it made her wish more than anything to one day see it all. Perhaps, even beyond Kalos itself!

These thoughts consumed her and made her pray that whoever adopted her were travelers, no matter how long it took, ready to get out and see the world.

As fate would have it, by the time she was four, a rather large Aggron dressed in bright, but fancy, clothes came through the doors one morning. His name was Arin Earnn, who although scary, he was jolly around the children.
He had already made the proper arrangements over the phone months in advance, and now was ready to take a child in as his own. The poor man had been a widower for a few years now and even then his wife was incapable of having children, hence why he was here.
Lovett was fascinated by the strange ‘mon, far different than any of the other Pokémon that came before him. Amidst all the other kids, she was the only one to reach up and tug at his pants leg, causing the Iron Armor Pokémon to pause in his talks to look down at the tiny Cleffa.

She asked him, “Are you magical?”

He stared, and blinked, but then erupted in hearty laughter, winking at her, “I suppose to some I could be considered that.”

Her eyes lit up, and immediately he knew she would be the one.

After the necessary paperwork was done and a long farewell, she was whisked away not to a home, but to an entire Circus. He was the founder and Ringmaster of the Circus of Miracles, and has been for many years. She was amazed, having never witnessed so many wonderful things and people.

Donning the name Lovett Earnn, she was taken on many travels alongside her new father. Getting along with him was easy from the start, and because of the ‘mon, and the happy workers around him, she broke out of her quiet shell and became much like he was. A jolly, if not loud, girl that looked forward to everyone she met.
By the time she was thirteen, she discovered that she rather enjoyed being around many of the feral Pokémon the Circus worked with, especially the Phanpies and Donphans.
Sensing her ease with the elephant Pokémon, Arin was quick to have her properly trained to work with them at a young age.
First, she started out small with just the baby Phanpy, but as she grew up into a Clefairy and then a Clefable, she worked her way to the Donphan. Being raised in the Circus turned the young woman into quite the performer.

Then when she turned twenty seven, she was walking alongside one of the Donphans when he suddenly jerked to the right. He bumped into her and caused Lovett to fall down, but surprisingly she broke her tibia in the process. This was odd in of itself, since she had fallen before like that without any issues, and the Pokémon didn’t throw her nearly hard enough.
While she was recovering, the doctors did their best but couldn’t come up with why the bone broke so easily.
At first Lovett just assumed maybe this was a random accident, but as time went on, she began to regularly get injured in shows. No matter what they or any doctor did, they couldn’t find the cause for the poor woman’s ailment.

Whatever disease had taken her was only getting worse.

Understandably, Arin eventually prevented Lovett from performing at all, deeming it too much of a risk no matter how much she protested. Instead, she was resigned to the sidelines and out of the spotlight.

With time, though she tried to be careful, minor tasks had started to become dangerous and she was often injured because she made a misstep and fell. Still, she was stubborn and refused to stay still for one minute, in outright denial of how bad her condition was.
This put a strain between her and the other performers. More annoyed than anything, on their next town visit, Lovett decided instead of being in her dressing room for the night, she would take a little walk.
She went out with a cane in hand, as she was already coping with a collapsed vertebrae that made her stooped over. It caused uncomfortable soreness that she wasn’t used to dealing with, so there was no way she would risk something worse than that happening.

It certainly looked a little odd, seeing a young Clefable like her walking around like an old man, but she ignored any offered help. She just wanted to get away from it all, even for just a little bit.
Along the stroll, she noticed a few new Circus fliers next to their own. Curious, she approached them and read the words, “Circus Darkrai.”

The signs depicted a Circus that was opposite of hers, looking darker in tone. This alone was enticing, and she made the long trek there to check it out. She was a little disappointed when she arrived through the gates, seeing it as just another regular Circus. Nothing really stood out other than maybe it had a few more Freaks than Circus of Miracles.
As she explored, her foot caught on a rock and she nearly toppled over on the grass, managing just barely to keep her balance by putting her weight on her cane. As she slowly regained her composure, she looked up and her glowing eyes widened at the sight of a very handsome Darkrai standing before her.

He gave her a smile and reached out to help her stand upright, “Good evening, Miss. I am Mr. Dark, Ringmaster to Circus Darkrai.”
She graciously took his hand, letting him guide her so she was comfortably leaning on her cane again. He raised a brow at her hunched posture, “Pardon my saying, but aren’t you a little youthful to hold yourself like this?”

“Not when you have brittle bones like I do.” She teased lightly despite his face remaining stoic through her joke.

“Oh, that’s too bad.” He chimed, giving her a pitying look before putting his hands behind his back, “I bet you wish that weren’t the case.” He added with a smile.

She laughed more this time, a slight bitter tone to it, “Yes, I do wish that. I wish that my stupid bones could hold themselves together for once.”

“Very well.” He gave her a small bow, “It is done.”
She raised a brow and was about to ask what he meant, but then he excused himself, “Excuse me, tonight is rather busy and I must attend to the other patrons.” With a knowing grin, he walked away.

His words confused her, but she chalked it up to putting on a show for the visitors, being a common thing in this kind of business. She too began to walk, but right away she noticed something…different.
There was a spring in her step she hadn’t had in a long time, her back could stay upright. The more she moved, the less her soreness was until it became nonexistent.
Finally, she was able to walk without the worry of a cane. This was impossible, but she really could care less.

She was cured somehow, she could perform again!

Excited, she quickly made her way back to her own Circus to tell everyone the good news. Arin was confused, but ecstatic his girl was better now.

This quickly changed after another two hours though when Lovett practically collapsed, barely able to stand. It was if her joints fused together into a mesh of cartilage and bone, hampering her movements with horrid pain.
Struggling, she managed to pull herself up onto her cane, shaking as her joints only got stiffer with every second. There had to be a way to stop this, but the only thing she could think of was going back to see that strange Darkrai. As crazy at it seemed, there was just too much of a coincidence between feeling alright when she was there, and being in such a horrible state when leaving.

Not knowing what else to do and not wanting to get Arin involved, she stumbled her way slowly back to Circus Darkrai, hopeful Mr. Dark could fix this.

Instead, when confronted, he merely smiled and said, “My dear, you wished that your bones would not fall apart, and I obliged. So long as you remain on the grounds, you’ll recover as good as new.”

“W-What?!” She gasped, horror and confusion on her face, “How dare you, I-”

“Is it a deal?” he asked her almost politely, completely ignoring her outburst, "We leave tomorrow morning. I would hate to see you part ways with us." he smiled that damn smile as he waited for her answer.

Lovett couldn't believe this was happening. Just like that, he managed to drag her from the only family she ever knew. This was no less than a kidnapping, yet...she knew he had her.
Even though she wanted to leave, with her bones acting up like this she wouldn't last long at all.

Not to mention, what about Arin? If he found out, he'd do everything he could to fight this man to get her back, and the last thing she wanted was him to get hurt because of her own stupidity. If Mr. Dark Could do this to her, he could easily do something even worse to the Aggron.

Relenting, she gave him a small nod, "...I...understand..."

Mr. Dark merely stared at her, his expression not changing once, “Then it’s settled.” He raised a hand to shake, “Welcome to Circus Darkrai.”

Much to her regret, she reached out and shook his hand.

Extra Info:

Important:
-The Phanpies and Donphans are NOT her pets. She just performs with them. While she does train them and considers herself close, they belong to the Circus overall.
-Lovett has a condition known as Osteoporosis, however, because of the time period no one knows she has this disease, not even her. Therefore, characters in CD shouldn’t know this is what she has unless they’re some sort of time lord.
-Here is her Show Outfit, what she normally wears when performing in the bigtop-

-To this day, Lovett still doesn't know who her parents were or why they abandoned her as a baby. Unbeknownst to her, they were a Mawile and Clefable, hence why she inherited the move Fake Tears. She also doesn't know that the name her parents originally called her was Elizabeth.
-Though Lovett does still remember that her original name was ‘Lovett Morin’ thanks to the orphanage, she still goes by ‘Lovett Earnn’ now because of her adopted father.
-Circus of Miracles's workers, and Arin himself, were very friendly and open with each other. It's why Lovett tends to have a hard time understanding how people in Circus Darkrai can be so secretive and closed off.
-As a Clefable, she loves walking outside during the night time when the moon is full. She feels a special connection with it for some reason.
-Growing up in Kalos, and their Circus having the region’s theme to it, she knows a lot about the region’s culture and has a fondness to it. While she’s loved traveling, Kalos will always be her home.
-Also due to Kalos, she has a love for beauty and fashion, as is reflected with the clothing she wears.
-To get more details on Lovett's Osteoporosis, go here to read about it. While it is more common in elderly ladies, it can occur unfortunately in younger people as well. Sometimes, without warning. You can be walking around normally one day, trip, suddenly you break your wrist. It can sneak up you, and is generally very horrible to deal with- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osteopor…

Just as great as the previous ones. The backstory is fairly interesting, the wish feels MAYBE a bit bland, but good enough, the character design is pretty nice, and overall, I think there is a huge possibility of her actually getting in. (I guess I didn't phrase that last one properly.)
TFW when you can write just fine, but you can't draw for shiz, so no possibility of ever making a proper application for your Circus Darkrai character. Oh well.

Thanks, I hope that she's good enough to submit soon.

And as for drawing, don't worry about it. The group doesn't have to rely on just art if you're good at rping/writing.
