Silverwing fanart feckin' finally. Took me long enough to actually make something decent!I hadn't grown up on its more popular TV show adaptation, but I did read the novel in 6th grade!
I'd already loved bats by then (mostly thanks to Stellaluna) but lost my mind when I discovered there was a whole epic adventurous book starring them. My teacher usually handled the reading part of our curriculum by periodically pulling out 5 novels and breaking the classroom up in groups to read those books together and do homework on them, but before assigning us in groups would have us rate the books on paper by which ones interested us the most, in order from 5 stars to 1. I distinctly remember putting like, 15 for Silverwing followed by a "please please please" and I guess that must've left an impression cause she assigned me to the Silverwing study group LOL
Best choice, would do it all again
If you haven't read any of the Silverwing books and would like a neat adventure with bats in a world with cool lore, cool characters and two lovable leads, um, yeah!! Silverwing.
Please please please please please.
Also if you're curious! Shade is a silver-haired bat, while his friend Marina is an eastern red bat.

This is beautiful! I love Silverwing! Shade and Marina look so precious in the realistic style you drew for them! I love the TV series, the first two books, and Darkwing! I'm never reading Firewing after everything I've heard about it, LOL, I much prefer the happier ending of Sunwing more!

You are very welcome! In fact, it was the TV series that introduced me to the books! Darkwing is so awesome, I love that it was set in prehistoric times! I wish Kenneth Oppel made a follow-up, showing the War of the Birds and the Beasts, and it ended with the treaty that banished all the bats to the night! Kinda like how the Hobbit led to the Lord of The Rings!
I for sure hope you do! If I may be bold, I'd love to see Frieda, Ariel, Throbb, Goth, or Chinook in this style of yours!
