Story:

Dr. Otto Octavius is a brilliant scientist, philanthropist and master criminal. His company is in competition with OsCorp, with the Kingpin controlling both companies to fuel his multi-billion dollar criminal empire, unbeknownst to both CEOs. Octavius is a young, vibrant, rich ladies man who seems to the public as a billionaire playboy who loves to live life during his extravagantly formal charity events. He first becomes a target for Spiderman after he discovers an espionage and assassination attempt between both companies. He visits Octavius to confront him, a task he assumes to be easy, until it is revealed Octavius actually has four mechanical arms which can crush almost anything. He has several battles with Spiderman, while trying to maintain his criminal career. Eventually, Octavius’ past comes back to haunt him in the form of Electro, who supposedly kills him. Ock emerges later during Venom’s reign of terror, temporarily siding with Spiderman to bring a stop to Eddie Brock. However, after Venom is disbanded from the symbiote, Ock bonds with it and fights Spiderman in an epic battle across New York City. Eventually, Ock is stopped, but Parker is mortally wounded, being forced to re-bond with the symbiote in order to save his own life.
