Description
Welcome to part two of my Friendship is Magic comic "Without Magic".After hearing that her faithful student is using Magic to solve everyday problems, Princess Celestia has transformed Twilight Sparkle into an Earth Pony.
I've taken on board some of the criticism of the last page (Mostly from readers who raised the whole "Earth Pony" V Hornless Unicorn issue), and I've modified my script a bit for the next couple of pages because of it. Mostly, it's made it longer. So please be patient as I've got more frame to draw that I originally scripted for.
Spike was supposed to be more encouraging, and was supposed to reassure Twilight about what Princess Celestia wanted, but I had to cut the scene in order to get everything ready by the end of the day as it was taking too long to do everything. I may put the scene into another page later on.
Anything that isn't directly attributed to somebody is either based on an image from the showadvertizing material for the show, or is scratch drawn (Some things are a combination of the two). I didn't use General Zoi's Pony Creator for any of this (yay).
The background is Library Upper Floors (Twilight's Bedroom) by DaringDashie (daringdashie.deviantart.com/ar… ).
Twilight Sparkle in Frame 5 and 6 was inspired by Comic - Dragon Trouble by DaringDashie (daringdashie.deviantart.com/ar… ), though it's not a direct copy. Twilight's Expressions were heavily guided by Faces of Twilight Sparkle (Vectors by Kdogfour (kdogfour.deviantart.com/art/Fa… ).
The food on the table was inspired by this video (www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWrc56… ) by ToucanLDM. As I needed something to get me started.

Spike is a combination of Spike is not Amused by tamalesyatole (tamalesyatole.deviantart.com/a… ). I used the legs, body, ears and spines, but redid the face, mouth and arms to suit my scenes better. I also simplified the image a little to fit in better my simplified version of Twilight Sparkle.

It's surprisingly time consuming. I had to cut 4 frames to get this out over the weekend. Otherwise It would have been next weekend before you got to read it.
I didn't want to use stock images or re-use images too much, so I basically had to create a fresh vector for the bottom frames.
I'm not so quick at it.

I'm not artist. The best that I can do is to fake it. So you're not going to find much quality here.
I'm OK at reproducing the style of the original series. But I suck at producing unique content.

I've thought of something like in a fan fiction I was working on. Such as how long would the unicorns last without their powers.

Or the fact that you've just described the heroine of the story - Twilight Sparkle - as a hero?
Did Celestia turn her into a colt while nopony was looking?

Lol, I know it makes no sense, but that's how a lot of those TV dramas end their shows. Also, really old cartoons.

I'm not sure that is such a good example.
Have you ever had an arm in a sling, and then tried to do something that only needs one hand, but which you usually use the other hand for?
For example, a right handed person trying to use a computer mouse with their left hand. It's perfectly possible but it feels weird and frustrating because you suddenly have to concentrate to do something that you used to do automatically.
Twilight is perfectly capable of making the sandwich with her hooves. She's just so used to using magic to do it that she is getting upset.
As Spike says, she regularly does thing that are much more complicated with her hooves. That's why Spike is getting upset with her. She could do it, but she's not even trying.
It's supposed to be flowers and grass in the sandwich. I guess I still have a way to go with my drawing.

No, I have never had the misfortune of have a broken arm or leg, and hope I never do, either.
But I have tried numerous times to do something right handed that I normally do left handed, and know how awkward it feels to write right handed when you can do it naturally left handed.
In case you've missed that: Yes! I am left handed in most things I do. But there are a few things I can do right handed, like handle a computer mouse and play baseball. I can use a mouse right handed because that was how I learned to use computers. I can also bat right handed in baseball, but the left handed side is my strongest side.
I thank my lucky stars, though, that I did not live in the time of my grandparents where a child who was born naturally left handed was forced to use their right hand for everything from writing to carrying things.
If the moral of your comic series is to teach us to rely on all of your strengths rather than just your greatest strength, then I'll give myself a pat on the back that I got it right; but that is NOT the moral of your comic series, then I missed the mark again and will apologize.
In hindsight, vegetarian ponies wouldn't eat eggs, would they? Those flowers looked like eggs to me.

Based on the pages that I've planned but not yet written, the moral is something along the lines of "You don't need ... to be yourself, but it helps"

Vegetarians eat eggs. It's vegans that don't. At least the vegetarians where I come from eat eggs. Ponies regularly eat eggs. Pinkie must get through hundreds with all of that baking. They also eat dairy products such as ice-cream and cheese.

For Pinkie Pie, if you're talking about all of that raw cookie dough, it would make sense, I used to do that a lot as a kid, never realizing the dangers involved... neither did my mother or grandmother.

Well this is a strong idea and I like it.
Then again this is a real subject that happens in our world, and it takes time and sometimes you need help.
The problem I feel here is that she is getting force but she is not even getting a hand here. and spike being a FUCKING ASS stead of trying to encourage her to try her best.

He's not really being mean to her, he's annoyed that she's giving up. Twilight has managed to set the table, and get all of the ingredients together, but she cannot make the sandwich?

Well he aint really helping here. that is not the way to help someone who has a problem. i was lucky i had an accident a long time ago and i wasnt able to walk for a while and im telling you that is not really helping.
Yes a strong push is necessary if the person is not willing to move forward but he went right away for the punch that is the problem is so out of character.
If he would really like to help HE WOULD GET EVERYONE RIGHT AWAY then they would realize the problem and try their best to help.
Dont get me wrong I love the comic and the idea is amazing and cant wait for the rest but sometimes we cant cut scenes and if you do that put some back story like you did at the end like commentary.

I see where you're coming from.
Suppose that after a while you could walk, but with a crutch, but that you needed a little extra push from somebody to encourage you to get up and do it.
Spike hasn't gone to fetch the rest of the character as it's only page two. Twilight is also a little embarrassed right now.
No horn and no Cutie Mark.

Oh dear, everything looks all but reset when she can't use telekinesis in her daily life. Well, at least it will be something beneficial for future winter wrap ups. Well, don't forget to ask the others, well, except RD, she loves flying a lot. Fluttershy rarely flies only when necessary and Rarity don't always rely on magic to do her job.

If you were Twilight Sparkle, and you wanted to know how to be "the best Earth Pony that you can be", where would you turn?
To be honest, I'm struggling to think how Pinkie would react to this, or what advice she'd give Twilight. The other ponies seem much easier.
Pinkie doesn't actually act like any other pony. Let alone any other Earth Pony.

I think when Twilight goes out, wearing a cloak, perhaps maybe asking Zecora for advice, or if not, let's take it to Applejack instead, her honesty might help out, err, also best policy?

I suppose she'll go see other ponies, so I'm sure it's going to be AJ, she'll be more than happy to help. Pinkie is definitely will laugh. But if I were Twilight, I'll see AJ instead, because if she's too busy, at least Granny Smith will to teach a few basics, and that includes hair brushing and brushing your teeth.

I don't think Pinkie would laugh, actually. She's all for a good prank, but not if the victim cannot handle the joke, and this would fit into that category. She'd probably contemplate maybe throwing a feel better party but then not be sure if that is a good idea.
Now, Rainbow Dash, she'll laugh. And then she'll want to assault Princess Celestia and demand she change Twi back.
AJ would definitely be the pony to see. She'd want to give the princess a stern talking to and would be supportive, but firm, with Twi.
And I think Fluttershy would be the worst choice to go visit. She'd probably be overly kind, do everything for Twi.
I'd expect Twi visit Rarity first though. She's the one who would most understand what it means to lose one's horn. And Twi's first reaction would probably be to try and find a magic solution, which means unicorn and/or Zecora. The combo of friend, understanding, and magic... Rarity.
Dawww moment I'm most hoping to see in this comic: After Twi finally accepts her Earth Pony status, she goes crusading with the CMC to try and get a cutie mark.
