Oh, lordy. I was planning to introduce this character with a little more formality but since the pageant is closing to new entrants by tomorrow, I'll just have to give you guys the finer details later.

Just know that Maja is one of Nyx's groupies so I'll upload a ref for her and the other two never-before-seen characters in a little bit.

Personality:
She's a stereotypical sailor--one of the saltiest pirates around (so keep your distance!). Even on a good day she's loud, rude, snarky, bigoted, vastly inappropriate on a cosmic scale, and ready to pick a fight over the most trivial things. She gets a high off of the adrenaline violence brings and relishes a good chase. She's also a bit hair-brained and crazy. She doesn't always think social things through and sometimes forgets why she's yelling at people or why she stabbed you in the kidney. Of course, she'll forgive you and have a good laugh about it with you and then call up an ambulance to take you to the hospital.

She does have a soft side but has difficulty in expressing it, usually coming off cooly condescending even when she's trying to be sweet and her manner of speech doesn't help that since her vocabulary is largely made up of swears and slang anyways. So when she's trying to tell you to buck up and that sometimes bad things happen, it'll sound like she's telling you that you're an idiot for being sad so you should just stop being sad. That's obviously an easy thing to do. Obviously. She's not the most eloquent people around and she realizes that. Just don't expect her to say anything mind-blowingly intuitive that makes you feel like a million bucks because it ain't gonna happen.

History:
Maja started life completely devoid of any memory of her parents. Whether or not her parents are dead, abandoned her, or simply lost their little black ball of fury in the midst of the galactic crisis that is Impending Doom 2, it's unknown (she does have a bad habit of creating fantastical stories about who her parents were/are to boost her own ego at times, however). What is known is that Maja ended up becoming a stow-away who went largely undetected as she passed from ship to ship, unknowingly honing her natural knack for stealth. She prided herself on her self-sufficiency, congratulating herself for a job well done, and quickly began building the foundation to the huge ego she has today. She ended up weaseling her way onto a very large pirate ship through transit, known as the Narsaalenvol, captained by a shapeshifter who went by the name of Ragnar, when it docked to resupply on food and water.

She was able to stay hidden for almost a week after taking a little time to chart out the schedules and habits of the crew, sticking to only moving through darkened or vacant rooms and air shafts whenever she could to avoid predictability. Eventually, she was caught by the reigning infiltration specialist--a stringy, beat-up ex-Empire Irken felon and former member of the Order of the Curved Blade who went by the name of Tarrul--and was promptly brought out to be shown to the rest of the crew. Instead of having a laugh and selling their feisty little rat to a slave trader or simply blowing her out the airlock, they took a shine to the tiny little Vortian girl and figured they could get some used out of her.

And that's exactly what they did. Maja was inducted into their crew and was trained to become a master infiltrator and ended up becoming a core member of their pirating operations. If they needed someone incapacitated or otherwise dead in a silent, timely manner, they'd send Maja out to take care of it. She was perfectly happy with helping terrorize the galaxy with her crew and gain untold riches along the way, very rarely ever being faced with a botched operation.

They inducted several new members along the way, eventually peaking at sixty-one crew members plus their captain. Life was good for the longest time. And then they brought on another new member after one of their heists. He was a very skilled Crystal Being mercenary going by the alias of "Slim" who had a reputation for being quite the ally if the pay was good. Maja immediately distrusted him.

Her crew benefited from Slim's tactical planning for several months' worth of heists and nobody questioned his loyalty. He was being paid very generously for his efforts as they all were.

But roughly five months after Slim first joined their crew, an unfamiliar vessel approached Narsaalenvol while they were in the middle of traveling to Foodcourtia for a food run and ran them down to the large, dusty planet dominated by desert and black market bandit syndicates known as Iridekk and were quickly shot out of the sky along the edge of one of the sprawling mountain ranges that ran along its surface. Besides the few crew members who died on impact, everyone who was fit to run evacuated and fled into one of the nearby caves to hopefully lose their pursuers.

Just before retreating into the caves, Maja looked back to see Slim calmly walking over to the synthetic beings that had shot their vessel out of the sky and join their ranks. She knew she should've killed him when she had the chance! A firefight ensued within the caves shortly after that, leaving fifty of their crew members dead and ended up halting abruptly when their captain, Ragnar, was terminated. As soon as he ceased to exist, their attackers lowered their weapons and nonchalantly exited the caves and flew off in their ship, seeming to have accomplished their objective by destroying Ragnar.

Maja now seeks to track down and kill the mercenary who sold them out and make his death as painful as possible.

But in the meantime, now that she's crew-less and captain-less, she now sells her infiltration services to those who can cough up enough money to make her trouble worthwhile. She also ended up meeting Zero's twin sister, Nyx, along with Nyx's long-time friends Andrea and Quip and goes out to bug them all when she has free time. She's lonely so she tries to spend as much time as possible with them.

[tl;dr version: Maja was a naughty little orphan who ended up becoming a part of a pirate crew, grew to become a loud-mouthed force to be reckoned with, and then lost her crew when some asshole sold them out for untold riches. Maja hates that guy. A lot. Now she's doing odd jobs for a little cash and she's super lonely. The end. ]

Likes: Seeing what she can get away with, alcohol, starting fights, ending fights, violence, adrenaline, when heists go well, handsome/pretty boys/girls, her twin knives "Roulon and Toulon", herself

Dislikes: New people (as a rule of thumb, she's very suspicious of new faces), being treated as inferior, when heists go wrong, sellouts, snitches, perfume (wearing just about any kind o perfume she finds smelly is an easy way to make her mad)

Fears: "Nothing!" (read: horribly afraid of failing her friends. It hurt bad enough to watch almost her whole crew whom she saw as her family be slaughtered before her eyes. Seeing that again would be too soon no matter how much time passes)

Aspirations: She wants a captain and a crew, just to belong to part of a collective. Nothing would please her more than to be a part of a pirate or bandit crew once again. The call of space and money is too good to pass up and the company it brings isn't bad, either.

Talents: Master of stealth, proficient in sleight of hand and distraction, handy with knives and pistols (in other words, she's talented at incapacitating and killing people), juggling

Defects: Congenital analgesia (inability to feel pain. Not that that's an issue. It only makes her stronger since she won't stop attacking someone until she passes out due to blood loss or something)
