Rumple/Gold was such an interesting character for four seasons, before his character hit a wall because the creators couldn't figure out not only how to kill him off for good but that they SHOULD kill him off for good, and the stuff they did with him in the last three seasons of the show have been shameful.
Axel was a very smart motherfucker, wasn't he? Then what the hell happened to Lea?
Dr. Zager's a good choice for the Archetype reason. He is one of the most cut-and-dry, obvious B-movie style mad scientist you could come across and he OWNS it, and his efficient science and contributions to Team Rocket's operations make him cross the line into being actually threatening as villain.
Sheldon Cooper? Not very flattering, but relating to a character doesn't mean that one is EXACTLY like them. XD
Shirley was actually one I considered for her category, along with Risa Harada. Senna only won out because I only ever took real notice of the character BECAUSE of her stupid haters.
Oh, and perfect placement of Lars! He was so hard to like before his change, but the change has been amazing!
And yeah, always gonna have that soft spot for Jadeite.

Three and half seasons, you mean (the whole first half of the show). The second half of Season 4 is where he hit that wall. If they had killed him off there and then, it wouldn't be so bad, but no, instead he got dragged on and on while losing almost everything that was compelling and enjoyable about him. Now his actual death at the end of the show won't cause celebration or mourning, just "meh".
Lea came back into existence, that's what happened to him.

Well, Shirley's kind of that same way. I was introduced to her before learning of her stupid haters, but didn't really have any big attachment to her until I saw all of the misogynistic, hypocritical and just plain uninformed bashing. Then I became a fan.
I considered the likes of Ken Ichijoji, Prince Zuko, Vegeta, etc. for that spot, but I thought that a villain-turned-hero was too obvious and I'd rather put someone there who wasn't a villain, just a lousy person and whose turn-around was very unexpected and, yes, amazing.
He was Sailor Moon's first, and we ought to never forget it! XP
