1 Spoiler: “But if so… the organization or department that did it would definitely have a record of him. Real name, prints, everything. And the cops found nothing. Even when they made enquiries, higher up the food chain.”
2 Batman: “So it has to be something that demands secrecy, and has a ‘deny everything’ policy.”
2 Spoiler: “There are good candidates for that.”
3 Batman: “Maybe military intelligence. With a specialization in interrogation – something he could have perfected at a place like Guantanamo or Abu Ghraib. He knows how to interrogate and torture, in addition to his understanding of a wide variety of military tactics and hardware.”
4 Spoiler: “Ooh, that makes sense.”
4 Batman: “And if he was an asset like that, they would have been careful that he wouldn’t have his prints in any database cops would have access to.”
5 Spoiler: “But still, the military would. And they’d recognize a rogue or even assumed dead asset rear his head and start blowing up hospitals, regardless of scars or face paint. That’ll mess with facial recognition, but is unlikely to completely defeat it. Particularly with how much he likes to film himself.”
6 Batman: “They wouldn’t want to admit he was theirs.”
6 Spoiler: “But would they really do absolutely nothing? Leave it up to you?”
