1 Spoiler: “Your early years were obscured by being in foreign countries. If we accept that the Joker had the same advantage…”
1 Batman: “I’ve given a cursory look at Interpol records. I don’t think he started out doing minor crimes in Europe, and then evolved.”
2 Spoiler: “But there’s the professionalism he exhibits. He would still have needed a lot of training. And foreign service might explain why it was an organization the Gotham police have no jurisdiction over… Spetsnaz, perhaps? It might be wrong to assume he’s an American.”
3 Batman: “Military, rather than police services. The French Foreign Legion, perhaps.”
3 Spoiler: “Yeah. That might keep him out of databases a police officer can access. Ours or international ones.”
4 Batman: “He doesn’t have any kind of foreign accent, though. The police did a cursory DNA check on him early on, and there wasn’t anything to suggest he was foreign-born – just the hodge-podge of a typical American. His file also indicates he’s circumcised, which substantially reduces the chances he has a European origin.”
5 Spoiler: “He’s what… I’ll be damned. You’re right. There it is, right in the file; a picture of the Joker’s pecker. You know, I think I could have lived my whole life without seeing this.”
5 Batman: “You’ve seen Darkseid’s.”
6 Spoiler: “That was different. And at the time he made it look like Dean’s.”
6 Batman: “The point stands; I don’t think he’s European.”
