Description
Continuing my study on olorotitan! This was the toughest muscle study i've done yet due to having very few references and lack of research I could find. So I applied my own knowledge of muscle groups as well as comparing other animals, so HOPEFULLY this turned out right. If you see a mistake please feel free to tell me! Like I said before, I'm still learning so any advice is great! The body is done in markers and colored pencil, background is painted in acrylic paint, and the labels added through Illustrator. My site: rushelle.com/

One of the things I love about paleo art is that you actually have to research the animal before drawing it, good job!

It's always a fun challenge, I spend a good couple of hours reading and looking up new research before I even touch a pencil. Then using living animals to reconstruct them.

To the same general commentary as left on your Carnotaurus Muscle Study , I'll add that the pterygoideus ventralis you've labeled as "masseter" reaches far too up the side of the cheek than even in the most daring reconstructions I've seen on the peer-reviewed literature (see figure 7).

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge! I did go by more mammalian anatomy when it came to the masseter, which I now know is completely wrong. I'll lower it when I fix the labels.

I think you went far too bird with the neck musculature and not enough horse.

I was considering going more horse, but I wasn't sure if that would make it too mammalian.
